IMO you gotta get away from that pro style offense, that shyt is so outdated in the day of the spread. The spread up tempo can help to hide your talent defencensies(:patrice:) and in this day you need to be putting at least 40ppg to be a top team
The pro style offense works if you have the athletes and a good O-line.. which he should have at Texas. Years ago the spread was for the lesser talented mid majors to compete against the bigger schools. Now everybody uses it

:comeon: didnt you guys just have one of the worst offenses in school history, now you feeling your squad after beating new mexico state?

:skip:like i said. i hate pissing contests over whether school X is better than school Y. if you put a list of the 10 elite jobs in CFB, florida and texas are both on it.

those are the schools where if you have an elite coach, nobody can touch you.

That was due to Muschamp and his ineptitude as a HC when it came to offense. Had nothing to do with talent. I'm getting frustrated again just rereading this quote from our former QB about our old offensive philosophy under Muschamp

At times, you can only do what the coaching staff asked you do,” said Driskel, the Hagerty High product who has since transferred to Louisiana Tech. “At times, we were asked to play conservatively and control the time of possession. I don't think it was a lack of talent. At times, it was lack of executing plays and at times it was lack of playcalling. There were times when we just wanted to punt the ball and get [the opponent] inside their 10-yard line.

Somebody said Strong has hacked off alot of Texas high school coaches for whatever reason.

When the coaches like u, you'll be altered to sleeper/overlooked players like a Samaje Perine.

When they don't like u, they'll throw away a players letters from Ur school before the player even gets it. Or they'll bad mouth you to the kid and his family

Texas "progress" rhetoric continues despite Notre Dame blowout

Texas youth movement off to shaky start in 38-3 destruction by Notre Dame

The Weekend Review: How was Texas so terrible against Notre Dame?

we should be rooting for breh, he has a nearly all-black staff at one of the most old money / old institution schools in the country.:salute:

but his offense still cant get right :ld:

hope this dude sees some progress soon

Nope! He had a good thing going at Louisville and they were willing to match Texas's offer. He still decided to bolt. He has to hold this L.

I'm reading through this thread, and you guys are bugging. I'll tell you flat out that Texas is a better job. Better facilities, endless money, easier recruiting and more exposure. Florida's opening game was on the SEC Network, brehs. UT has their own god damn channel and all of their games are nationally televised on top of it. No one is fukking with UT money. The pressure to succeed at UT is far higher than it is at UF though.

I agree that Charlie should've waited for the Florida job because he would've been option #1 & had it made, but he'd be a fool to turn down the UT cash cow. I hope they give him at least 5 years to turn it around at UT.

He needs to hit that recruiting trail hard. We have no talent and so far he's not doing a good job recruiting IMO. Needs to realizes he's not winning in Texas with 3 star athletes

Like i said in another thread, TCU, Baylor and mainly a&m have messed up the traditional recruit ing pipelines.

Its why OU now recruits strongly outside of texas.
