If you call a national championship gap between 1970 and 2005 a winning tradition. :mjlol:

Winning tradition are Oklahoma, Alabama, Ohio State, Notre Dame and USC.

From 1975-1995, Texas didn't start getting the top recruiting classes until Mack Brown became the head coach.

Oklahoma was getting all the top Texas recruits in the 70's

Oklahoma, Houston, and SMU was getting all the top Texas recruits in the 80's

Texas A&M was getting all the top Texas recruits in the early 90;s

:mjlol: @ people thinking Texas was some kinda of recruiting juggernaut pre-Mack Brown era.

Compared to Florida which went from 1906-1996 between winning an NC and went from 1933 to 1991 without winning a conference title then yes Texas is a winning tradition compared to Florida

Texas is by far a better gig than Florida. It just comes with immense pressure. From a monetary standpoint, it gets no better. The money, scenery, recruiting hotbed, and facilities come with strings tho. Not as much power

:what:

How are you gonna use gaps in NCs as a barometer when OSU went like 35 years between rings and ND hasn't sniffed one since '88?

Charlie will get a year 3 as long as we at least finish .500 IMO

Year 4 depends on how year 3 goes, problem is UT likely won't hit on a QB until our 2016 or 2017 commits get on campus, and you'd hate to have to start either as a true freshman but unless he gets a quality transfer:yeshrug:

There is so much misinformation in this thread not sure I can cover it all.

1. Charlie is doing pretty well in recruiting, people keep looking at stars as the indicator but our current jrs, and seniors are 4-5 star recruits Mack pulled in and they suck. Our current freshman class probably has more talent in it than the rest of the upperclassmen combined. Just need the experience and the speed of the game to slow down.
2. His relationship with TXHS coaches are just fine.
3. We are not running a true spread offense, its more of a uptempo West Coast offense that is about to get Watson fired.
4. Oklahoma still sucks

Boise St and old dominion don't count that puts them at 6 off gp

That places

nd
MICHIGAN
osu
OK
Bama
TX
usc
Nebraska
Penn state

But texas doesn't have a winning tradition :what:

So, we counting most wins over most championships now? :mjlol: Only on the Coli.

Add how Boise State doesn't count?
