Do those places really exist ie a country that is willing to harbor you and how likely is that scenario?
Yeah, but the list isn't exactly glamorous, and even without an extradition treaty, it's not like a get out of jail free card. If you have enough motivation and assets, and contacts, yes, you could hide in, say Montengero, or Oman, and two, if you are not that high profile, like a 24th defendant on a 45 person drug indictment, maybe you can live a nice life. However, the more assets, money, and resources you have, the more likely the Justice Department is going to be highly motivated to bring you back. I just read a case in San Diego, where a guy was detained in Latvia, for real estate fraud, tax evasion, and deported. Or they can expel you. You need a lot of resources and good contacts, false identification, ability to move money, liquid finances.
