What about his verse on Pete rocks 'tha game'

MC Ultra high-brolic bank roll alcohol vulture
Garlic balls dice the shield of ocre
Tally ho pitty-pat backgammon pro
Pink salmon five spring rolls know me, you love my intro
Half a face wig sewed together like Manhattan Chase
Lookin' like snatchin' the place, check behind the drapes
Castor Troy layin' for Travolta mic gun pump
Layin' on the floor Clark's bleedin' watermelon chunks
Hold up... sprinkle the hash, Tony chapstick
Snatch RZA last piece of fish right off the glass dish
Butter roll beats bagel tracks wavy hair decks
Lay it down straw hat style, Butterball crown
Time life investments, when broke I wrote the old testament
Crashed domes now perform excellence
Words with the President, brunch with Yeltsin
Gorbachev under Meth's nuts, he out in Belgium
Six and a half monkeys, twelve nazis
Four disappear, three eight two one flash to thin air
God's replica no wheel drive motionless mind cresica

Although that isn't too overly cryptic or stream of conscious 'gibberish'. (not really agreeing with the word, ghost is my no. 1 MC, but to get the point across....) .

But I used to get hype to this shyt, and after P slays his verse it takes something special to not only get not outshines but to just go off in a way that no one would ever do. No one puts words together like that, it's like the book ulysees by that writer who's name I forget, Irish guy, you just trip off the words n shyt

I think it was a little of both. In an older interview he said who gives AF what he meant by it, it meant whatever it did at the time he wrote it. The more I started listening to Ghost I actually started understanding him...it was really his slang. Of course the lines strung together didn't make sense, but individually he basically was saying how live he is in different ways.

Ironically, when he went to generic simplistic thug raps is when he started to fall off.

So what other rippity rap nikka u talkin bout? Cause I didn’t know Ghost was considered that. If u listen to the verses. He just made up a lot of his own slang. Cam did the same shyt to a lesser extent as well.
Cmon man how many people applaud ghost as this incredible lyricist and look at wu as the best group all time and will shyt on any newer artist who ain’t on that lyrical miracle tip the booth is filled with nikkas like this, and I’m certain you know plenty of old heads like this.

And for other rappity rap nikkas, Eminem and a lot of those double time type rappers as well as a lot of those experimental sonically sup par underground artist like Aesop Rock, Earl at times etc fit this mold of saying ALOT of shyt without actually saying shyt.

Black artists been expressing themselves with made up language since the Harlem jazz era...y'all never heard of scatting?

I think what Ghost was doing was more clever than scat and definitely more than mumble rap, he was actually stringing together hundreds of bars worth of words together that flowed seamlessly. Same with Camp Lol since they were brought up
:mjlol:Look at this shyt, I don’t want to hear ANYMORE slander of these younger artist even though I don’t fukk with most this has got to be the most hypocritical old headed shyt I’ve ever seen:mjlol:

So your telling me simply rhyming words that don’t make since is ok as long as it sounds good together and rhymes?
If that’s the case y’all can’t no longer criticize the younger generations mumble rappers cuz some of the worse ones will say a whole bunch of random shyt that rhymes with melodic tone that meshes with the beat and sounds good to them.

Which is essentially what ghost is doing saying a whole bunch of random shyt that rhymes and sounds “fly” lmao I gotta bookmark this shyt, I see why a lot of the residential old heads avoided this thread.
I’ll take old school southern and west coast hip hop any day of the week at least you understand what the nikkas talking about and don’t have to worry about pretentious old head and backpackers.

Ironically this the most jibbering of the entire thread.
I have never seen your name before, you don't know me, and I'm sure we've never had a conversation. You're calling my statement hypocritical even though there's never been a prior conversation to compare:gucci:
You claim I've dissed younger generations based on WHAT?
Or are you under the assumption that I have somehow absorbed the opinions of every nikka in an unknown age bracket, and am speaking on behalf of the entire forum that has had people say things you don't agree with?:dahell:

Name a lyricist, any genre that tells a coherent story with their verses? The number is truly minuscule compared to the number of rappers. Scarface mostly tells a story, Cube used to tell stories, Nas mostly tells stories, Ice T mostly..a handful of others in which that's their style. For the rest, It really is a bunch of random thoughts strung together. Some lines connect more than others.

Ghost uses/used an even more abstract way of saying how thoro he is. Ghost said "pat down Dan Aykroyd" Why? He's a Ghostbuster. The younger crowd tends to say the most simplistic ish...no thought put into it, no flare, no creativity, no emotion.
