And as far as the Ray Luv shyt....:mjlol:

If people want to shyt on Pac for that knock yourself out but the fact of the matter is if Nickeleus F. ghostwrote for Drake on "So Far Gone"....and then there was nothing else in Drake's career to even remotely suggest he'd use a ghostwriter....then there's nothing to discuss.

Cats are in here with the Ray Luv shyt like it's a smoking gun....when Drake had a writer back in 2009....reference tracks 7 years later....and Hush credited as a writer on 50-75% of two of his albums. Not to mention Mo-G claiming he was giving Drake bars.

Bottom line, there's too much suspicious shyt around Drake's career to give him the benefit of the doubt. A guy writing a random ass song for you that didn't really impact your career in any meaningful way =/= what's going on with Drake.

Fred.
Altho I dont agree wit the Pac shyt. Ray Luv didn’t write FOR Pac. Pac took some shyt that was being disposed of. Ray Luv has also said Pac had wrote for him. There is full rhyme books of Pac’s shyt that has been on auction. Pac has written for Shock G, Some of The Outlaws. And was known for how prolifically fast he wrote rhymes and would be the first one finished writing at the studio. And if u wasn’t finished with ur verse. Would offer to write ur shyt too. Completely different from the Drake shyt. Drake was literally going around LOOKING for ghostwriters cause he’s a fraud. Random nikkas on the internet n shyt. Ray Luv and Pac was in a group together and lived together since teens.

I don't disagree but I'm saying if that's the hill they want to die on, so be it. I been a Pac fan since "Same Song" and didn't even remember what song "Trapped" was until someone reminded me. The way people trot it out in every ghostwriting thread, you'd think it was some kinda career defining moment. :mjlol:

Regardless, I was using it as an example because Nickeleus F. wrote on "I'm Going In" uncredited. Which is a random ass Drake song. Like "Trapped" is a random ass Pac song. If that's the only moment of ghostwriting in Drake's career then it's a non-factor.

You're making this shyt 100x more difficult than it needs to be.

Drake is a pop star to me. I'm not a fan.

To Drake's fans, he was supposed to be the next Jay-Z.

Even though he's a pop star to me, I can point out the ghost writing shyt because that's not the lane his fans placed him in. If his fans considered him....I dunno, the male version of Taylor Swift.....then it's a nonissue.

Matter of fact, ignoring all that....his own camp said rappers with ghostwriters shouldn't even be in the game. Around 2012 or so. Then come to find out, he has ghostwriters. You could completely ignore random ass people on the internet chiming in on the topic....because his own camp said ghostwriters aren't ok.

Fred.

I'm not making anything harder than it needs to be.

Drake fans are irrelevant to the discussion. They are expected to root for Drake regardless. I specifically pointed out Drake's cultural standing and expressed that Drake fans are neither here or there when it comes to that discussion.

You take issue with it because Drake still has a thriving career in Hip Hop. It never mattered whether he was out here calling himself "top 2 and not 2" or "last name ever, first name greatest". It is a matter of opinion.

When people put Drake on a Jay level, it has little if anything to do with skill set and much more so the run that he has had from 2009 to present.

And you completely ignored me saying there were hypocrites on both sides. Drake's camp was playing politics because he had writers in 2012 when they were "anti ghostwriters".

And this is what I'm getting at. It shouldn't matter whether it's a career defining moment or not. If ghostwriting is a crime in Hip Hop NOBODY should get a pass because you are now making it cool for everyone to have them.

shyt is def a crime. There’s def levels to this shyt tho. And I’m saying this as someone who used to be a ghostwriter. Every situation isn’t the same.

Imagine if someone said Tony Kukoč is the GOAT basketball player. The shyt is outlandish. Now imagine if he got busted using steroids after he said they were for bums.

His stan would get clowned for dikk riding someone that clearly doesn't deserve that level of fandom.

It's not rocket science. You're basically saying "if you don't think Tony Kukoč is the GOAT when why do you care if he uses steroids"....because someone else put him in a discussion he doesn't belong in.

And this is what I'm getting at. It shouldn't matter whether it's a career defining moment or not. If ghostwriting is a crime in Hip Hop NOBODY should get a pass because you are now making it cool for everyone to have them.

It's a crime when it's clearly a crime. Del writing for Cube solely because Cube wanted to give him writing credits to put money in his pocket....when, out of Del's own mouth, Cube would never in a million years actually need a ghostwriter....is clearly not the same as the Drake situation. No offense but you gotta be obtuse as fukk to not be able to differentiate between the two.

There's different levels to crime too, but a crime is still a crime, which is my point.

:gucci:

Jay walking is a crime but it's not murder, which is also a crime.

The fukk? You mean to tell me you can't differentiate between obviously different things? :dahell:

That isn't what I was getting at. You were giving passes for a song not being a career defining moment

Breh, its outlandish to claim Tony as a GOAT basketball player. He had some highlights especially during the Jazz vs. Bulls Finals, but dude wasn't even the best on the team. No one would even entertain a Tony Krukoc GOAT discussion. Him using steroids would be a non issue in regard to a GOAT discussion.

Two different offenses. I'm saying two people using ghostwriters is the SAME CRIME. Manslaughter is still killing someone. Fine line between doing it voluntarily (murder with intent) and involuntarily (negligence).
