It's not seeing big's career at all though. He's a legend no doubt, but naw. He's had plenty of time to do more. He hasnt made anything worth discussing since the 18th letter to me. I also think biggie's flow/vocal performance and overall song making ability is better than rakim g rap and common and by a very large margin.

Rakim's flow and vocal performance is/was essentially perfect. He set the standard. His first three albums spawned numerous classic singles. His influence is incalculable.

Rakim as a lyricist could go toe to toe with BIG

His first three albums go toe to toe against Bigs catalog.

Yeah he fell off - so what? It doesn't detract from what he accomplished. And he never fell off on the mic.

It's clearly debatable.

rakim got fire rhyme patterns the patterns ra got are far better etc

Just when things seemed the same, and the whole scene is lame
I come and reign with the unexplained for the brains 'til things change
They strain to sling slang, I'm trained to bring game
History that I arranged been regained by King James
Go to practice, with tactics, when the track hits, theatrics
Women that look like actress the status of Cleopatra's
Stacks of mathematics took the ego-a-geatics
As I find out, what the facts is, for geographic
No time to sip Mo's with hostess, never mind what the total gross is
I rip shows, stay focused, and split cheese, with soldiers
While you hit trees and coast I spit flows that be ferocious

cheese (A) with (B) hit (B) trees (A)

biggie ain't never flip no rhyme patterns like that

As far as his timing yes you are correct. But the bouce or lack there of in his flow was very very boring even for those times. Makes me sleepy. The swagger in his voice was weak and predictable.

I want to BUMP this thread again to make it clear that the opinons on this sub-forum are generally awful lmao

There's another thread on here comparing 2 rappers and it's absolutely ridiculous haha. Too bad in the real world things are completely different and you'll get smacked in the face with reality :russ:
