This exact thing happened to me last year. This chick I met off tinder had pics of her from like 2 years ago when she was much more slim. Shoulda saw the red flag when she only had 4 pics on IG, and 3 of them she used on tinder. She sounded cute and petite over the phone so I wasn't expecting anything but that. I thought I hit the lotto Man when I finally saw her I was like is this the right girl? bytch was at least 100 pounds more than her pictures. How is it more work? You simply stop communicating. It's the laziest way to breakup. and Ironically since it prevents closure, it leaves the door open for a reunion in my experience.
No seriously, i feel like as bad as a person feels when they get ghosted it makes it harder to tie that memory specifically to you since they experienced it all alone. Whereas an in person breakup they remember the look on your face and the humiliation they felt hearing you say the words. then obsess over it for a long time.

So after you ghost someone if they see you a long time from then down the road, there initial reaction when seeing you will be curiosity instead of anger. Or if they are angry, they still may feel the need to confront you for "closure". But it's hard to be as angry the day of a breakup as it is months or years later. So it's really just a chance to talk.
