Don't ever recall Meth ever sounding like Joe Budden. Meth addressed the whole Joe insinuating that he ghostwrote for Meth shyt before. Meth says that Kevin Liles once approached Joe Budden to write a verse for Meth before because Meth was having a difficult time with a certain track, Meth refused. End of story. And I've said to certain people that I'd never say it....
But if they ever put Nas, Jay Elect and Killah Priest on the same record, it would sound like the same dude with different voice tones.
And I also remember listening to Blackout 2 and thinking I heard Meth sounding like Joe Budden on like one verse before the beef happened..... then later Joey got salty cause Meth was listed higher than him. I don't remember what song or verse, though.... I deleted Blackout 2 after like one listen.

from what I've heard (not saying it's true) people send song/rap lyrics to people all the time the same way producers send beats and demos get made.
they see your work is consistent enough, they sign you on. Or just call you up and be like "I need a song on so and so subject. The check's in the mail."
OR....
You go up to audition rap wise, they sign you but make you write and shelf you album wise.
