Bruh pop is Midwest, and cats trying to slice and dice the south, if you below the Mason Dixon you are southern, now how much influence you got from other areas or their own culture then so be it

I never said what it was. I said we say pop in the South too. Didn’t I?

Edit: The bolded is all that matters

That’s crazy, because when i was coming up, i never got sweet tea from a store or restaurant til i moved down south, grandma was from Arkansas she made sun tea ( sweetened it with sugar) shyt was flames

Yep exactly it wasnt really a staple like that up here unless it was homemade (on some southern roots shyt), now its more accessible in restaurants and etc

Trynna catch up with the discussion…..

Naw….. we don’t call soda “pop”

its SODA

The only time I used the word “pop” was either referring to my POPS, or singing that 2 Live Crew song

That’s all well and gravy, but where are you from? Get caught up and understand the context before you jump off the porch. We’re at the point now that a distinction had to be made between the Deep and Mid-South. Where you’re from will tell the tale.

Texas so big, I always considered it an independent region lol.

SOME ppl even refrain from calling kentucky and tennessee fully south, so they came up with "mid-south".

I got a lotta ppl from Tennessee, and I definitely put them in the "south" category:pachaha:

:mjlol: some of the hardest shyt ive seen all time was in a Memphis hood and the South Side of Chicago, With toledo and Cleveland Ohio being a close third.

Now they catching on, but man that shyt was a struggle when I was traveling in the 00s. :to:

Coworkers used to try and comfort a nikka by offering me a Snapple or Lipton and shyt. :mjlol:

:scust:shyt is worst for you lowkey, I know that pure leaf tea is linked to heart attacks, I had to stop drinking that once I found out.

Didn't say it wasn't southern. It's not deep south.

Semantics.

Anywhere they flew the Conf. Flag counts imo. This isn't like ppl tryna claim Virginia as the South

Until you get West beyond Austin, Texas then I feel like the moniker changes.
