I've literally heard it called pop once in my life here in New Orleans. Some old lady in a Wendy's drive thru asking for a pop and the chick working the drive thru had no idea what the old lady talking about. Held up the line and everything. :mjlol:

I've always heard it called coke, cold drink, or soft drink down here.

I don’t care what “folks consider”, we’re speaking facts and East, South, and Central Arkansas/West Tennessee is definitely part of the Black Belt. We’re speaking facts, not consideration. Arkansas is the South and East Texas is too. It’s retarded to not see it as such.

I never heard anyone in Dallas or Memphis say "Pop" :heh:

Most people just say "Soda" or "Soda Water".

White people in Texas say "Coke" a lot.

Arkansas and north Texas definitely have heavy midwestern influence. There are a lot of border regions where there’s heavy influence from the region that the area isn’t geographically associated to. Especially with Texas where you got southwest, Midwest and Deep South cultures in different parts of the state

Arkansas has very distinct regions just like Texas. Central and East Arkansas is no different than North Mississippi or the Memphis area while South Arkansas is more like Louisiana and South Mississippi. The areas that are influenced by the Midwest in Arkansas is in the Ozarks in the North/Northwest. North Texas and Oklahoma have more of a Midwestern influence than Arkansas does because only that NW corner touches MO and OK. The rest touches the Deep South.

Nah. Not ordering of a menu. Need to be specific then... sprite, coke, Pepsi, mtn dew, whatever...

But chilling at crib... "coke" ... I specific remember this cuz after playing ball I said some du.bshyt like "soda" when I first moved here ... everyone like :mjtf::scust:
This is still confusing to me. Say you got strawberry soda and Coca Cola in your fridge and you ask your wife, kid or friend to bring you a “coke” - you say the name in that instance or just coke and leave them confused lol

Did I say the NO? I said my region, not the Deep South.

Just Coke. That’s why nikkas said Pop as a distinction between the two.
