That's not the reason he gets criticized by former, and current (gone fishing) players.

Guy has 24/7 motor and goes hard on both ends of the court. By doing so, he was fully maximized his potential. Guys with much more offensive talent than him, but without the motor or work ethic, resent the fact that he elevated himself to MVP status.

At the back of their minds they start questioning what they could have achieved with the same drive.
