It wouldn't be a surprise if the Bucks and Giannis at least explored a break up. Though i doubt the Bucks would want to trade him cause no way are they getting equal value back they also owe hin the chance to compete if they can't make any moves. The Dame move obviously wasn't enough cause they still aren't legit title contenders this season. They at least need to tinker and see what they can do to make Giannis happy. Cause if not they are going back to the 90's Bucks with 26-56 records or worse.

Anything's possible. But I think so long as Giannis is under contract, they'll just keep refreshing the team around him and attempting to keep him happy until he expressed he wanted to go. Bringing in Dame has been a mixed bag for a number of reasons: in part, hiring Adrian Griffin, injuries and the previous Big Three not quite coming together because of the latter. It sucks to lose Khris, but letting him go gives us some flexibility in the offseason, so we'll see what they do.

Should there be a rebuild, I don't think we'll have that 90s/mid 2000s malaise. The big difference between now and then is the ownership. Herb Kohl (previous owner) ran the team like a personal pet project; the current ownership is comprised of multiple billionaires who run it like a business. They generally attempt to win and make money (save for the Griffin hire.)

They already won a chip and they brought him help that he asked for. Sit down and shut up

This is super catty from a player whose arguably the best player in the league, top 3 at worst. LeBron at least does his crying off camera when hes pressuring front offices.

On KRS One's nose, eating sunflower seeds.
:why:
I don’t see why so many posters hate Giannis. All he does is hoop, crack jokes, and mercilessly fukk his poor wife through the mattress (seriously I don’t think I’ve ever seen her not pregnant, she needs a break).
I don’t get the Freak hate either. Ideal franchise player who plays hard, doesn’t half-ass it, humerous, etc., but just has nagging injuries.

It's very strange as a Bucks fan. And I'm the kind of Bucks fan who recognizes his faults as a franchise player. But otherwise, he brings together a divided city. shyt, part of downtown is completely rebuilt pretty much because of him. Stays out of trouble, doesn't do anything self-hating. By all accounts locally, he's genuinely a nice guy. Plays ball, goes home, smashes Mariah. And somehow keeps Thanasis employed.

Yes.

They also wasted many 2nd round picks on Jae Crowder.

Jon Horst is praying Kyle Kuzma makes a difference.

And he'll make a difference alright... he'll be so inefficient that he shoots them out of a series.

Kevin Porter might be a sneaky pickup for them though.

Correct on Jae. That's gonna go down as one of Horst's worst moves, probably next to dumping Donte for Ibaka. He's also generally been a shaky drafter, which doesn't help.

It's early, but Kuz actually seems to fit so far. He'll never be what peak Middleton was for us, but at the moment, he's offering what Khris can't do right now: energy, versatility, a little bit of rebounding, defense and scoring; most importantly, he can actually run the floor the way we need him to. We'll see if he reverts to what he was with your guys, but he seems to be buying into his role. Jury's out on KPJ, but Doc seems to like him.

Refresh the team how? They no cap space or young players and assets to meaningfully improve the team around him. They are what they are at this point really.

I mean at some point at as a great player why tie yourself to a franchise that isn't working as hard as you to bring a chip in. They've wasted a couple of years of his prime when he is overworked regular season and done for playoffs. Bucks with Khris and Jrue just needed to be healthy.

Im not seeing a future for them right now especially if he walks.
I agree with the bolded but I dont think that applies to this situation. What more could they realistically do? They went all in and got Jrue and then flipped him for Dame. What years in his prime was he over-worked in the regular season? No excuse for underwhelming or hurt every year in the playoffs. No excuse for letting Jimmy come into his house and finger his wife right in front of him multiple times. I am a fan but gotta keep it a buck.

If OKC crashes and burns in these playoffs or more-so when Houston crash and burns in these playoffs, they should give MIL a call.

Only thing i don't like is he's 30 but last year was the first time he'd played 70 games since he was 24... and he's not gonna make it to 70 games played this season. Compounded, a lot of these injuries bleed into the playoffs as well.

So he's a guy who plays 65 reg season games with 50/50 availability in the playoffs.

OKC trading for Giannis would be odd to me

How would a trade package even look like. Wouldn't Chet Holmgren be on the table?

As long as Jon Horst has been the GM, he really hasn't stood pat in the seasons leading up to and after the championship. For better or worse, he's probably been as active as you can be with transactions. That's how we got to where we are. When he's done here, his legacy will probably oscillate between whatever results we get from the Dame deal, hiring Adrian Griffin (which wasted a year of Dame/Giannis), and "mortgaging" the future via draft capital for a title. In my estimation, the latter is really what matters because we didn't win one for 50 years.

Ultimately, he flipped Eric Bledsoe for Jrue Holiday, which ultimately led to Dame being here. The latter is arguably the biggest trade in franchise history. Plus he's always attempted to tinker on the margins. This season it was Taurean Prince, Delon Wright and Gary Trent. Past seasons, it was guys like Malik Beasley, George Hill, Jae Crowder, Pat Bev or Jevon Carter. Sometimes, those bench/role player pickups work and sometimes, they don't. While I think his drafting is suspect, some of our role players are young, reasonably priced guys they developed like Andre Jackson and AJ Green. Coming into next year, as much as real fans hate to see Khris leave, we have some cap flexibility. Brook's off the books, too. Are we gonna see a Dame-level deal again? I'd be surprised. But I'd be just as surprised if they ran the same team back.
