The problem with this is that Steph was in the most perfect situation ever depending on what year you using. Not acting like MJ might notve had a top 3 squad ever around him, but that ‘16 squad is beyond perfect for counting everything you could possibly throw at the guy
This is blatant revisionism.

All those players (barring Klay to a certain degree) benefitted from the defensive attention (ad nauseam: more than any player in NBA history) that Steph had on him. His teammates were getting wide-open shots all over the floor because of Steph. That '16 squad was league-average on talent, it was their chemistry, and how they harnassed Steph's ability, which is why they were so dominant.

What weaknesses of Steph's need to be hidden? And who are these "GOATS" that you speak of?

THE FIRST OF MANY THAT COME TO MIND IS THE LACK OF STRENGTH AND SIZE TO GET HIS SHOT OFF 1-ON-1 HIDDEN BY A MILLION ILLEGAL SCREENS

N THATS ALL IM GIVIN U SON .. I AINT GOIN BACK N FORTH WIT YO GOOFY ASS ON THIS ONE

"Gravity":mjlol:
Yes, the threat of scoring from anywhere in the halfcourt forces teams to shadow him with 2-3+ players, everywhere he goes, with and without the ball, which of course, gives his teammates easy scoring opportunities. Or do you seem to think that defenders were forcing the ball out of MJ's hands well above the arc because of his shooting ability? Do you seem to think teams were using 2-3 defenders to shadow MJ off-the-ball above the arc?

It's why the Warriors have had the most dominant offense ever, because of plays like this:

"That inexorable efficiency and the double teams it draws echoes the impact of another MVP, Curry's opposite in terms of body type. Curry doesn't boast the ultra physical version of dominance we associated with Shaquille O'Neal's tendency to cave in defenses, but his is dominance nonetheless. Shaq bashed defenses till they broke. Steph stretches defenses till they snap."

Steph's shooting ability makes teams panic on defense. It's literally been happening for the last five seasons. Where the hell have you been? Did you not see the Finals where the Raptors were basically guarding him 5v1? Teams never did that with MJ.

Just stop bruh

:usure:

Scoring against double-teams in the low/mid-post and in the paint has no relevance here. Especially as it relates to the scoring opportunities that Steph gives his teammates. Steph stretches defenses to a greater degree than MJ did, because of threat of his shooting ability, which, therefore, means his teammates have easier opportunities to score.

Defenses never shadowed MJ with 2-3 defenders all over the halfcourt, with and without the ball. For starters, the rules wouldn't allow it, and most importantly, teams weren't worried about MJ pulling up from the logo.

How does this not make sense to you?

TO BE FAIR, THEY CREATED THE “UNTOUCHABLE” LEGACY OF MJ AS WELL......

MJ IS A GOAT, BUT HE’S NOT THE GOD AMONGST MEN HE WAS MARKETED AS. THERE WERE A HANDFUL OF GOATS ON MJ’S LEVEL, BUT BASED ON GENERAL PERCEPTION WE WOULDNT KNOW THAT.

AS INCREDIBLE AS HE WAS, HIS MYTHICAL LEGACY WAS HIGHLY PROPELLED BY BEIN DAVID STERN’S 1ST BORN CASH COW.
Larry Bird literally called him God in his second season. That ain't got shyt to do with marketing or david stern. That's from a man who was im the midst of winning his 3rd straight mvp and 3rd rimg. Bird also called Jordan the best ever 4 months into his rookie season. You can't mythologize someone when these events are occurring in real time in front of the whole world.

You mythologize things that can't be verified. No one has his resume.
6-0 in the finals
6 fmvps
5 mvps
10 scoring titles
Dpoy
3,000 points in a season
41 ppg in a finals series
Multiple memorable playoffs/finals performances and plays
