It's basketball not modeling, if that were the case the entire NBA would be full of male models.
People watch the nba because it's elite level basketball, so they don't need to be male models. Ratings are high regardless.

Forget for "women" it's just not elite basketball. The same reason why nobody cares about female soccer, basketball, hockey etc is because the skill level is so low compared to men.
