I remember this was after he gave em a discount too. Wizards wanted to give him more :dead:

This was over a year before Abe Polin passed away. He really wanted to keep Arenas and Jamison... he wanted to get one more championship before dying. But the Wizards should have started re-building right there and then that summer with the cap room they had.

But to be fair, no one thought Arenas would be what he was now. Everyone was optimistic he'd still be a lethal scoring option who would get better with age in terms of being more of a PG.

Before gun gate, the Wizards were under .500 and Gilbert was a turnover machine but he was still putting up 22 PPG and 7 Assists per game... and he still could score. But mentally after the injury and the stupid gun incident right after he was finally healthy, it just finished him. :to:

Atleast we got John Wall out of that season.

I still got love for Agent Zero :salute:
The fukkery of them mid to late wizards squad was entertaining. Those were the good years. I hadn't watched so much Wizards games since the Howard-Webber days. I went to about 20 wizards games during that Span, althought most of those was with the Hughs-Jamison-Agent0 squad.

A long time ago I couldn't fathom how these dudes go broke after they're done playing. Now I realized that 22mil isn't 22mik after taxes. :whew:
And these dudes get taxed every state they play in. Uncle Sam :whew:

On July 13, 2008, Arenas signed a contract worth $111 million over six years with the Wizards. Since that day, he played a total of 55 games for the Wizards until a trade sent him to the Orlando Magic, where he spent half a season during the 2010-11 campaign. He was amnestied by the Magic on December 9, 2011 and then played for the Memphis Grizzlies as a backup point guard before moving on to Chinese basketball. Like Roy, his contract ran through this season, with the Orlando Magic, who hasn’t played for since 2011, still paying him huge money.

:wow: In a way, I'm sure he's disappointed that his NBA career didn't work out but at least he's getting paid. :manny:

But Gilbert isn't playing in any state right now. All he has to do is roll 1/4 into an account not to be touched until he is 55 and he will be :banderas:.

And if they hate then let them hate and let that interest pile up :fiddy:

And he's developing apps right now :wow:

It's nice to see Gilbert winning. In HS we all know he'd be in the NBA but we didn't think he'd be one of the highest paid or be on covers of video games and magazines. shyt is wild.
