I think what some of yall aren't getting about Ray's caping over vapid ass Marnie is that Marnie is a dime (white standards not mine).
In this show's universe, Ray isn't exactly Brad Pitt, so he's hit way above his paygrade. You would think someone as well read, free thinking and intelligent
as Ray would scoff at the idea of dating someone as simple and selfish as Marnie but he's smitten by her beauty.
The dude is miserable and lonely. And to have someone of Marnie's quality fall into his lap? Of course he's gonna act a fool.
Many men can relate to a time doing stupid, out of the ordinary things when they had a brief affair with a shallow woman with no redeeming qualities... but her physical attributes made up for them for the time being.

This is what's been getting me, like did I fukking miss Marnie being anything other than a vacuous, selfish black hole? Ray has been the only centered, smart, consistently funny character and I just can't buy him falling for her like that. They should've done a better job with the two of them if this was the way they were going, I think they just make it up as they go along though. Like at the end Jessa decides all of a sudden to be a therapist, like what. Same with Hannah just deciding to teach and Shosh heading off to Japan. A little more build would be nice.
Elijah was by far the MVP of the season,at Adam fainting in this ep though.
I can, he's still kind of a loser in his mid 30's and she's an attractive mid 20's girl from a moneyed family.
