I just lost a Gucci sandal in the fukking ocean

Nikkas already talkin about Nas and Pac and such, so I'll talk about Mobb Deep
I actually got wind of them when they signed under 50, because at that time I was a huge 50 cent/G-Unit, so I was interested to see what they were about. I was a casual listener of rap, just liked whatever was on the radio back then. And I will admit, I was unimpressed. "Outta Control" was alright but I was like "Who are these two
nikkas that joined G-Unit
"
Anyways, as I got more and more interested in rap, one of my friends was bumping shook ones II and he was like "Aye listen to this" and I gave it a listen and I was like "this is dope! Who's this?" and he was like "It's Mobb man" and I was like "Mobb Deep? They did this?
" My friend then gave me "The Infamous" on my flash and I took it home and bumped the whole thing...by the time "Party's Over" came on I was already a fan
After that I checked out Hell on Earth and I was even more impressed...it was really Heavy Metal for the black peopleAnyways, now I have all of their shyt, from Juevenille Hell to Infamy and beyond, and even their unreleased shyt. Mobb Deep is the GOAT duo

... Mobb had to been in the game like 12 years by the time they linked up with fif. When I was up at 12 midnite walking thru north Oakland and I was bumping 3X Krazy immortalized album on my walkman off a E pill..and everything Keak was saying sounded demonic and crazy..I was thinking in my head that them nikkas is really demented and crazy and I can relate to it..The E pill combined with Keaks raps felt like I could really do some sick shyt that nite...a week later I was off a E pill at nite again..and I took a BMX and put a baseball bat across the handle bars and rode to Berkeley looking for some fun,,someone to jack..that's how keak made me feel..
In the whip comin from playin ball, my friend's older sister picked us up. he bought "illmatic" that day and he was playin it in her tape player. i was in the backseat eatin a bag of doritos (back when them shyts was only 25 cents a bag) and a quarter water and i heard "But not bisexual, i'm an intellectual / of rap i'm a professional, and that's no question yo", i thought that was the illest, most complex rhymin shyt i ever heard in my life. been a stan since that day.

I remember back in 98-99 it was all about Dmx Jay-Z Ja Rule Redman Pun etc Eminem was buzzin.I use to watch The Box or Bet whenever videos would come on. I remember seeing The Roots (The Next Movement video) my reaction was like
get this upside down right side up video the fukk outta here
. At the time I'm like 14-15 lookin for them hype williams videos to see some video hoes
. Fast forward to 06' im in borders just listenin to Madlib Tribe Blackstarr etc. Cause my boy had put me on to Little Brother. And my other homie had me listening to Canibus, Royce da 5'9, and Sticky Fingas. I was jusy checkin for what I missed out on. Then I stumbled across (Things Fall Apart) by The Roots. I bought it. A nikka had the
all at once. Like y didnt I give these nikkas a chance. Bought almost every album from them and hasnt looked back since. Black Thought is the most overlooked underrated lyricist of our time.

the fukk outta this post. Black Thought is criminally underrated/unsung. Black, and The Roots as a whole should be in convos with the greats, to be honest.

. nikkas is really dying over rap?
I'ma just stick to my melodies, harmonies and dancing like MJ singing Black or White in the mirror
It didn't help that my moms used to blast Hit Em' Up all the time when dropping me off too school so I really thought this shyt was real. My mom liked Biggie but being a young woman in the 90s she obviously gravitated to Pac's acknowledgment of her struggle....and he was a smooth ass nikka
.
.......

shyt.
to everything. But that's when I really started to truly idolize him and look up to him forreal. Plus he was from my hood so I really thought he was that nikka.

This thread is starting to look like a NaS appreciation thread![]()
I wanna ask you one question
If I had some nuts, hangin' on the walls
What did I have honey?
I said, "Darling, you'd have some walnuts"
She said, "Well, daddy, if I had some nuts
On my chest, would those be chestnuts?"
I said, "Hell, yes"
She said, "Well, daddy, if I had nuts under my chin
Would those be chin-nuts?"
I said, "Hell no, bytch, you'd have a dikk in your mouth
at this...then I hearChiggie check
Microphone, check one
(Chiggie check)
Microphone, check two
(Chiggie check)
Microphone, check three
Check game from the notorious Compton G

), but dude's storytelling and unique sound on The Chronic is what made me check for all of his subsequent tracks.
