I think he could in a proper system. He tries sometimes but needs work. I think that like KD transformed on the Warriors when he was surrounded by defensive talent and had his role defined more narrowly, if you stuck LaVine with guys like Avery/LBJ/AD then he'd be a quick study and look a lot better than he has in his current situation.

Obviously KCP is the better player but I think Rondo brings intangibles and is the only person LeBron trusts to run the offense.

I say we get Rondo on a decent deal as we can get players who replace what KCP brings

I can't see the Lakers giving either one up unless they KNOW who they are going to replace them with. Outside of LBJ/AD they were the most important players on the roster. If you want to win next year you convince them to stay and pay them whatever unless you have a star free agent who fits to sign in that space.

Sure, one side of the coin is us being facetious but the other side of it is having abnormal optimism about things because we’ve made shyt happen historically. You gotta think it ain’t just what a player can do for the Lakers but what the Lakers and LA can do for said player.
