OP was some real shyt

Criticize all y'all like but Buddha basically said the same thing

If u take a good look at frustration, most if not all of it comes from unfulfilled desire/craving

You will not have peace of mind while being a slave to desire

And even fulfilled desire often brings temporary pleasure followed by long term suffering

I don't agree totally or much. Dreams and aspirations are what wake us up. I gave up on love and putting people first and their expectations of me, mostly what I perceived. I just been waiting on the opportunity to be able to provide for myself which should finally happen tomorrow. I can focus on my interests that I had but couldn't wholeheartedly pursue worrying about providing, a woman, etc. I'm done with that useless pressure.

Buddha was a passive nomadic bum from Asia who had a eating disorder and realized that you couldn't lose the game of life (emotionally) if you didn't care or desire enough to play it and get attached to it. The ideology is built around emptiness and detachment from the normalcy that come with living as a person. Not to mention Buddha path to "enlightment" began by abandoning his family. The end goal of Buddhism is moksha (depending on which form you subscribe to I know a lot of westerners and new age Buddhist downplay the metaphysical and supernatural aspect of the philosophy/religion) .
I have no problem with the ideology /belief if it makes you a better person just don't use your world view as a justification for the actions of others. Op sounds like he's letting life just happen to him. He sounds like a pessimistic nihilist more than a buddhist imo.

Lol only on the Coli is one of the most respected people who ever existed a passive nomadic bum.

Buddha (Siddhartha) taught craving is the root of all suffering and to overcome suffering u have to detach from overwhelming desire. He did not tell people to be empty and emotionless, he taught to not get attached to a life you're gonna have to leave anyway.

:skip: So we can't criticize other people religions on here now? I make fun of all religious figures honestly. Why is your's not able to be made fun of as well?

:jbhmm:What did I say that was inaccurate? He was in fact a bum, he was homeless, ran out on his family to teach a religion he conceived while being a bum . You mad I didn't use any euphemism or sensationalize Siddhartha? Your dogmatic view through the eyes of your belief isn't the standard of living for all people on this planet is my point and shouldn't be used as a justification for another person actions.

Like I said before if Buddhism has helped you to become a better person than that's great just don't think that blueprint can be applied to all situations and people. :pachaha:

:ld:Op sounds like a pessimistic existential nihilist rather than a Buddhist.

most of them are mad bc they are TRAPPED: :comeon:

They already had kids, already wifed some thot, and already OWE mortgage and car payments therefore they are ALREADY STUCK IN SOME CAREER/JOB :sas1:

When you in a spot like that the only thing to keep you sane is to justify your choices-- Its why ppl WITH kids push thier friends without kids to have them "theyre so great" "i have zero regrets" but AFTER the friends have kids then they start with being HONEST :snoop:

What if you have a wife and kids a mortgage and a regular job but just aren't trying to be some great, magnificent superstar (entrepreneur, six figure wage earner, ceo, boss).

What if you see your job for what it is, utility, but don't get too wrapped up in it. What if you don't live your life for a big titlte, but use the job to pay bills and mostly just enjoy your friends and family. .

Is that being trapped in the system?

U are entitled to your opinion I just think your facts are a little off

For one saying Buddha was a Buddhist is like calling Christ a Christian

They did not subscribe to nor create these ideologies, people who admired them created them after their deaths.

And u might wanna stop making assumptions, I am not a Buddhist.

I never said this neither.

:what: So why use him as a justification for op exstential nihilist view? Buddha didn't teach existential nihilism.
