The thing is OP is that you can't stop playing the game, even if you want to. The game of life is all there is. When you talk to someone you're playing the game. When you pursue a passion you're playing the game. Reveling in vice? Playing the game. Sure you can try and play by your own rules, but then you'll likely be playing the game by yourself... yet still playing the game. The only true way to live how you want is to get good at the game. This doesn't have to involve wealth accumulation or anything like that, but living with a certain vigor that invites new experience.
But I understand where you're coming from in that many of us need to program ourselves away from delusion and idle consumption. The foundation of this country is extremely weak and a lot of people lack direction/purpose/faith. If I were you I'd travel. You'll decompress and possibly regain the faith in the experience of being active in society.

Out of all of the infinite, key word INFINITE, dreams there are, you can always succeed at one. If not, then you are a defeatist and in the colloquial sense, a loser.

Its like one weekend my girl said "what we doing this weekend" I said nothing at all. Some ppl are happy to fill their bellies, and sleep, and enjoy laughter and dont want to start a business, or be good at anything. And I can't say I fully agree. I feel you should have a plan/goals/dreams or whatever, write them down and then revisit from time to time to make sure you're on track but don't stress over your progress everyday.

When you in a spot like that the only thing to keep you sane is to justify your choices-- Its why ppl WITH kids push thier friends without kids to have them "theyre so great" "i have zero regrets" but AFTER the friends have kids then they start with being HONEST
