But
for my people. We so lost as a collective. When I have kids I'm not naming them after an oppressor.

I once thought my last name was Italian, until I saw a census from the late 1700s of an enslaved 80 year old man with it. My folks are from a small island in Dominica. It didnt really make sense to me but maybe I descend from the great Moors?

Hakeem, Jamal etc., might code as black...but that's way different than naming your kid Quantravious or Ashalawniqua or some shyt.

Darius is Persian/Iranian, but you pretty much only see brehs named Darius. Tyrone is Irish, but again, how many white Tyrones do you know under age 60?

I wouldn't name my kids anything over complicated just for the sake of sounding black.
It's not even just about job interviews. People period will laugh at or take someone less seriously with a name that sounds stupid. People that have complicated names have to sound out their name, spell it out for people, correct people if they pronounce it wrong.
