Both Dope... very good CDs.

Section 80 had better "Songs"

GKMC is a more complete "Album"

Right now I'll give GKMC a slight edge and thats only because very few rappers make concept albums and stick with a theme throughout.. Section 80 had a theme and it was dope but this album was just more personal and gave me a better feeling of who Kendrick Lamar is.. Which alot of new rappers don't do

Also I personally could relate more to GKMC cause I know how it is trying to be somewhat good in a fukked neighborhood and but of hood nikkas as friends.. Them skits with his momma calling about bringing her car back hit home...

exactly how i feel

 my nikka you dont like hii power how is that even possible :wow:

Did that nikka really say "that first song"

:pacspit::wtf::snoop::heh:

this is how you know most people who are praising GKMC have never listened to Section 80. no way GKMC is holding Section 80 song-wise f*ck "preferences" "opinions" THATS FACT. now as far as creativity and ability, we see that shyt on his sleeve in GKMC.

I put F&L above BTH primarily because "Juicen Dranks" is a weak song and there's no bad song on F&L to me. Also, the best songs on F&L such as American Terrorist, Daydreamin', The Cool and The Instrumental resonate with me on a more deep level than a Dancing in The Rain, My World Is or Narrow Path.

Both 5/5 albums though.

PS: I just had another playthough with GKMC and I stick by my 4.5/5 rating. Fantastic album. Not better than Section 80 for the same reasons I gave in my first post in this thread. GKMC is more cohesive, more creative and a more complete experience, but Section 80 simply has better songs.

The same reason I feel S80 is better than GKMC is the exact same reason I feel LIG and FL2 are better too. Still, the album is great in its own right.

Also why do people say "best debut since F&L."

What about Below the Heavens?

I think they mean major, but BTH is def.. DEF one of the best albums released last decade. I dont think GKMC is anywhere near it to be truthful section 80 was kendrick at his best, from a writing aspect. GKMC is cool, but the overall story/skits compromises his technical abilities as well the replay-ability factor of certain tracks. i wish he would have included the story into his lyrics not the skits which will be skipped from me probably 90% of the time. that's why the tracks that actually discuss the story are the finest tracks on the album. the fillers that the skits introduce are incredibly weak to me at least. just my opinion though.

GKMC. But an argument could be made for OD or the Kendrick Lamar EP being second best. Kendrick has a brolic body of work.

GKMC is that piff, no denying this

But no song on there had me hitting the replay button like Keisha's Song did on S80

Section.80

:yeshrug: I can relate more to an album talking about my generation than to a Boyz N The Hood concept album

both dope, but I gotta give the edge to Section.80 just because I felt it was way more ambitious.

plus I felt like Kendrick used those skits way too much as a crutch to advance the story/message on GKMC where as with Section.80 he relied more on the actual music

Most important thing is that unlike Wiz and Drake Kendrick's fist major debut album met/exceeded expectations and we won't have to hear about wanting the old kendrick back. I'm happy

section. 80 is more about the actual music opposed to telling the story. but still GKMC is one of my favorite albums ever. i hope his next album is less story and more music but still GKMC>>section.80 this thread was needed.
