Snoop was the bigger rapper in 93/94 but lets not kid ourselves no one was checking for Snoop in 95 and when Pac joined Death Row Pac was by far the bigger star.
Now if we're talkin globally in 2019 that shyt ain't even close and anyone that says otherwise never left his state
Pac is the closest thing to Bob Marley in terms of popularity :yeshrug:

This is the correct answer

Anyone saying otherwise wasn't around

Of course in 93, Snoop was on a whole other level. But 95 ish, Pac started to catch up a bit ...Snoop wasn't too active and he had the murder trial

But as soon as AEOM dropped, Pac took Death Row over, he took LA over, he took California over and he took rap over.

In 96 no one was checking for Snoop over Pac

I'm not even trying to argue that Biggie was the greatest, thats you going left. I'm talking about how in 98 there was no contesting what Canibus said by throwing Pacs name in the mix of being the greatest of all time.
Huh? No contesting? Wtf lol ok if you say so.

Thank you, exactly.

@synistr fukk are you talking about? Like I asked the other dude, how old are you cats? People got a lot of answers until you ask them straight questions.

Fred.

breh, you are the last one to talk about straight questions because when I hit you with facts you started copping pleas and moving goalposts. :beli:

every record store does not sell merch for the same price. there is a significant difference between independent stores and large chains. this is why most indy stores cant survive. very little markup depending on distributor. I worked for a white owned indy store and they had to sell bootleg live concert cd's of rock band. like Pink Floyd and shyt. just to compete. worked at a black one and they had to survive off of mixtape cd's like Clue. not sure why I have to explain sliding scale concept to you. where Wu Tang Forever may have been $26.99 in one store, I distinctly remember it being $22.99 where I purchased. so single cd in respective stores were about $6-7 less.

I can honestly say I dont remember the prices of AEOM, because I am man enough to admit that and not wait around 24 hours til someone else comes in with receipts then act like I knew the shyt all along. I dont remember purchasing AEOM, so that likely meant that I got the cutout for free. Companies would send us free albums for promo, sometimes it could be 3 CDs, sometimes 10. it varied. then they were divied out between the employees. fortunately for me I was the only really rap fan at the store because I worked with all cacs.

oh yeah, I am 48.

anyway, you are a notorious stan with no objectivity, especially when its someone you aint feeling. seem to remember you trolling Ross threads all the time. I am not a Ross fan either but I dont make it my lifes work to troll him on a message board. aint that serious. :mjlol: and definitely betnot nobody say nothin bout Kendrick or Gibbs or you will find your way in:cape:admit it breh. you too old to be stanning at this level.

I am a stan of neither but Pac only became bigger after he joined the Row. thats just facts. not even sure who I like better between the two. I listen to more Pac, especially his later work, but Snoop's early work is among some of my fav of all time from any artist...period.

anyway, you here in this thread on some b.s. I mean really. in here talmbout if Pac had Dre in the beginning. all tht shyt is irrelevant. the discussion was clear and concise. or at least I thought it was. WHICH was bigger when they were alive. I said from the beginning that Pac was bigger in 96. Glasses also conceded this. so what are we arguing here? are we arguing who was bigger in 95? ok, then that is a real subjective discussion we can get in to. you know yourself Snoop was bigger the years prior but want to come out your ass with some shyt about Pac didnt have the luxury of Dre...playing these "what if...." games. :francis:

U so full of shyt. :russ:

So u basically saying Dear Mama is mediocre just because it's based of emotion and relationship between mother and son ?:stopitslime:

First, what u sayin is a opinion not a facts
Second. There are throrough people who love that song and who will fukk u uo if u call them bytches.

Third, there are rappers who are gifted and conscious enough to write songs about dysfunctional structures and urban society problem among others topics. Can't say that about some rappers :sas2:
Dudes all over the place with his comments.

When you show receipts, he comes up with scenarios and situations to fit his narrative.

But in 95....

Artist of the year (solo) :

Producer of the year:

The only other west coast artist mentioned (best acting performance: Ice Cube)

Video of the year Ice Cube & Dr.Dre - Natural Born Killaz

Pac had a historic/infamous 9 month run in 96 that led to his untimely demise.

I never used the word all..

I went by songs YOU specifically mentioned.

Again, you are adding context that has nothing to do with you saying Pacs songs Dear Mama and I get around wasnt in the top 100.

Again songs that YOU mentioned in a category YOU brought up.

I showed the info..now you are reduced to juelzing.

Stop it, breh.

you used “any”

i’ll take back Dear Moma - but not keep ur head up & i get around (dem shyt was no more then regular rotation singles back then which is the definition of mediocre)

this is the year in question. 95. so its debatable at best for Pac. He had Above the Rim but his popularity would have to be based on California Love for last 2 months of the year elevating him above Snoop and I dont believe it did because Snoop's next move was so highly anticipated, his popularity had not weaned. So I still say 96 was the only year he wouldve been more popular while they were both alive.

Keep Ya Head up is mediocre ? A song talking 'bout social problem, Black and about men who should be more cautious and take more women is mediocre ? Based of what exactly ? Just tell me.

Actually your definition of mediocre is because the song was a rotation ? Man just stop. U're embarassing yourself.

well, when Charlemagne was naming Pac songs and Envy said "they werent bigger than G Thang or Gin and Juice" you have to remember that Envy was a young DJ and was under Clue at the time who was spinning these records so his perspective is more qualified than Charlemagne's recollection. California Love and How Do You Want it were different records....but you cant compare Dear Mama to G Thang, Gin and Juice, or Whats My Name because those were CLUB bangers. nobody was playing Dear Mama in the club much less dancing to it.

so you say "i give up" when nikkas you think are saying some stupid shyt. But then you say "nobody was playing dear momma in the club"! Who the fukk thinks dear momma is a club song?....whos playing dear momma in the club? who wants to hear dear momma in the club???

Shut yo dumb ass up. Like a song being played in the club isn’t directly tied to its popularity. When you compare the Snoop songs we mentioned to Dear Mama, club play takes popularity beyond raw sales numbers. You also illiterate as fukk because I never said it was a club song. The fact it wasn’t was my whole point idiot. :mjtf:

When nikkas was in the club they want that Gin and Juice bumping and the DJ damn well better have it spinning.

As far as name recognition goes they were the same but Pac had a lot more stand.

Come to think of it I don't think snoop has stans like that.
