No annual fee so they aren't making money off of me unless I don't pay off my balance before the month is over.
Plenty of other people paying interest so me slipping through the cracks isn't bothering them
If anything I’m making money by using my credit card with all these rewards. I pay no interest no annual fee and getting 50 dollars or more in rewards a month.

Just depends , using your main debit/payroll card online, gas station, Restaurant etc, is a no for me

my city has Extreme carjackers and stick up kids,
Gas pump scanners, dont forget the online Data breaches,

1. have A secondary debit card with less money on it to use in Public and online

2, Credit card

3. If you get scammed or jacked with a Credit card your real money will not be in a bind.

If you want to not get a credit card. Get a Fidelity investment account & a cash management account.

you get a debit card with your cash management account. You can transfer what you need for every purchase that day (or right before you are about to make any purchase for that matter) to your cash management debit card. So you won’t get taken for more than you have on that cash management account if something happens.

The point many are trying to make is that using a debit card makes it harder to recover your money in the case of fraud. Rewards are icing on the cake, but putting another barrier between someone and your money is the crux of the argument.
...............

I really don't get why this concept is so hard for them to grasp :mindblown:

Breh I'm watching this dude keep going like :russ:.

Dude really said only broke people use credit ignoring the fact that owning stock in a company effectively makes you an unsecured creditor. So by his dumb ass logic Apple, Microsoft, Amazon and every company on the New York Stock Exchange are broke:russ:

Debit cards should only be your option if you are young (like early 20s or teenager young) or you have absolutely terrible credit. In those situations I understand, and Im not judging you, I don't know your life. But if you have the ability to get credit cards instead, do so. Get paid to spend your money, get benefits for just buying the shyt you already buy; and as a bonus, never have to worry about card skimmers or shady charges showing up on your shyt.

You don't even need fantastic credit. Getting refunded 5% of what you spend on Groceries/Gas/Amazon.com/Entertainment each year via Credit Cards is just :ohlawd:

Coli folks so damn uppity

we judging folks for using debit cards now

Nah man you taking this the wrong way. This is just helpful shyt. You can't take offense to everything someone points out like that. Brehs in here saying they get charged if they dont use their debit card X times a month. That shyts a whole ripoff and they need to check out their local credit unions and pick one that reviews well and switch. They giving their business away to a company that's bullshytting them.

I hate debt and it's scientifically proven you tend to spend more when you're using a credit card :yeshrug: The "rewards" are great marketing, the best way to save money is to not spend it, which you will likely be doing more of with a credit card. Debit cards also have fraud protection similar to credit cards, just might take longer to get your money back if its stolen.

this thread is wildddddd :snoop:

We seriously need to educate ourselves to become more financially literate. There is no excuse in this day and age with the resources we have.

I know A LOT of people who still use debit due to lack of knowledge and it always shocks me when i hear ppl do.

It’s not borrowed money until it accrues interest. You get a 28 day grace period after the statement posts (basically 2 months at the most) to pay it off. None of it matters if you keep a zero balance. Just use the credit card the same way you use a debit. At least once a week pay it off with the same bank account that you would have used for the debit card. It’s the same thing, but with the benefits that come with a credit card.

My credit score has jumped up 111 points since I’ve been doing this.

I only use my credit card for large purchases like hotel stays and vacation or emergencies. I pay with cash for everything else. I don’t care about rewards that subconsciously train my mind to over spend. I worry about who’s paying me than who I’m paying
