I've used credit cards since high school. I'm 34 now and have never paid interest. Never.

I pay my entire balance off monthly. Similar situation with most of my friends:manny:

Most folks who think CCs are bad are the ones with bad credit and/or cant really afford to spend more then they do. Then they end up in a hole.

Its really simple. Pay your balance each month

Man I have to do it the same day - aint no way in hell I'm lumping all those charges together at the end of the month. My discipline ain't like that.

I'll have 5K balance :sadcam: with 5K in my checking :takedat:

I ain’t gon hold you brother! Whatever helps you manage it best.

:salute:

If anything, when you pay off a credit card, you always know what you are spending money on. I noticed some horrible habits, like how much I was spending on Dunkin’ Donuts and/or Starbucks. I had to cut that amount quickly. I never noticed when I was using my debit card/account.

There’s a saying “don’t be penny wise and pound foolish” tricking your mind into thinking that credit card companies are giving you free money and rewards is just a marketing illusion. Once they have y’all hooked then y’all become advocates for them.
"Credit card" companies and "debit card" companies are the exact same companies.

You just typed a bunch "spitting knowledge" mumbo jumbo.

I feel like this thread is in the twilight zone.

You're acting completely ignorant of the distinction I already made.

Companies are willing to issue you debit cards because their risk is low and they can make some amount of interest off your money that you are storing with them.

Companies are willing to issue you credit cards, even though THEY have to front the money and thus are losing interest-gaining opportunities plus are assuming a great deal of extra risk, because they know they will make far more than that off the interest from you.

By basic business models, it is clear that companies make far more off credit card consumers than they do off debit card consumers - that's why they are willing to front the money, that's why they're willing to accept the extra risk, that's why they're so extra with the rewards programs.

Yup, very simple.

Like I said earlier, most Americans keep a balance on their cards. That’s a revenue center for CC companies.

But…if you’re able to pay off your charges before interest accrues, there’s no difference between that and cash. Its just another vehicle to purchase things, with the added benefit of rewards if you have them and some protection against fraud.

I’m out. I can’t do this thread anymore. You didn’t even say anything just jibberish where you pretend like you are giving an expert opinion. No real life examples or anything. This is just stupid. If you want to use a debit card. Do that. I will keep using my credit cards like I’ve been doing. Cause it’s been working out for me

Just neg me or ignore me or whatever y’all dummies do.

I woke up this morning thinking who the hell still uses a debit card in 2021 other than somebody’s old granny? :what:

Guess I was wrong.

There’s nothing “wrong”. Using a credit card just provides you with an extra layer of security a debit card won’t, along with rewards if your card has them.

fukk what yall debit card nikkas talking about, its CC gang over here :birdman:

My 0% interest rate credit card getting all my purchases besides travel, plus I get a percent back on groceries and dining.

With That + Rakuten for online shopping to get even more cashback, I’m saving money at no additional price compared to using my debit card

CC life not for eveyone, but if you have financial restraint, it pays off in the form of cashback, free vacations, and additional coupons that you can’t get with your debit card

So my brother just hit me saying he walked in to a restaurant and paid cash for his food because he didnt have any money on his card and later on found out that his card overdrafted from this same restaurant.. So he paid cash but somehow his card was charged the exact same amount that he paid in cash..

That made me check my card because i went to this same restaurant earlier in the day.. My food came up to $30 but when i looked at my bank statement i was charged an extra $10 somehow.. Mind you i only swiped once for $30..

That made me look at the last two months of transactions, i noticed that 3 different stores i visited charged my card twice in the same day for more than i spent at the store..

Have any of yall had this problem recently?

Im the type too never check my bank statements so aint no telling how long this shyt been happening.. This some bull shyt i wonder if a few companies systems are hacked or what but im not feeling this shyt.

Use a credit card.
