Everywhere I’ve ever lived, across multiple states, a “gated” community was ALWAYS on some rich folks type sh!t, whether it was a gated community of apartments or gated community of homes. You know what I’ve never seen? A gated projects community, at least not with locked gates and a security guard that has to let you in. That sh!t is unheard of. Again, I’ve seen gated projects before especially down south, but them sh!ts ain’t locked with a security guard to let you in.
Parkway Gardens probably has a guard to actually keep them somewhat safe. If I’m not mistaken, the FBG dudes they beef with are like a block or two over. It’s been so much bloodshed between the two sets & with them being so close together, someone decided to put a guard there.
I think some of y’all are associating the term “gated community” with well off neighborhoods. Any place can be a gated community.
