Cosmopolitan Las Vegas easily, been Vegas many times but nothing has topped that in all my travels - and I travel a lot.

If you're planning a vacation. You want a hotel that is:

  • In walking distance to shops and restaurants
  • Provides complementary airport shuttle
  • Free breakfast
A hotel should be for sleeping, and storing your luggage. If you are spending a lot of time at a hotel, you are not having a good vacation. You also want to build up your hotel points, so try to stick with one chain, or set up your hotel points account to add miles to your airline account. Don't book hotels on Expedia etc. You won't get your hotel points. Booking plane tickets on these sites is good, you still get your miles. If you eat at the hotel, or buy from the gift shop, charge everything to the room, so you get points from those purchases. You can also buy Amex gift cards, earn points for those, and use those to pay when you check out, Always use a credit card for the security swipe just incase they put a hold, so your debit won't have that money unavailable. You want the hold on a credit card, not your debit card. When you check out, settle the bill on your Amex gc, or debit, unless you earn points on a credit card, which is double dipping, so you get your hotel points, in top of your crediit card points, or cashback.

Always buy anything online through a points site like mypoints, upromise, ebates, etc, or else you are throwing money away.

I’m a Hilton rewards member so I try to stay at those. Never ever had a bad experience. Rooms always clean and they have some of the best sleeping beds.

fukk Paris Hilton though.

One of the nicest hotels I ever been in though was the Trump International in Central Park. Fresh fruit everyday in your room. Gorgeous views of the park and the city.

Depends on the holiday, if you there for a good while then having a very nice hotel to relax and chill is good.

When I went Cancun - Spring Break, of course I didn't care for the quality

City breaks I am the same, Tokyo didn't really care too much - just stayed in a Best Western Inn.

But when I am in Bahamas for 2 weeks, then having a nice hotel with options of Spa, Places to eat etc is a must

The best part of traveling for me is the hotel experience. I don't even do air bnb or hostels because I'm the type to go on vacation just to stay in hotels for the service and accomodations. For me, the accomodations, will dictate whether I like a place or not.

In the U.S., the best hotel I've stayed in is Ocean House in Watch Hill, RI Ocean House | Relais & Chateaux | Rhode Island Hotels | Luxury Beach Hotels

Outside of the U.S...
The Upper House in Hong Kong - Luxury Hotel in Hong Kong | The Upper House
The Alpina Gstaad in Gstaad, Switzerland - Hotel The Alpina Gstaad in Switzerland - Homepage

You do know people go on vacation just to stay at and experience the best hotels. These hotels typically have loads of accomodations, expansive grounds, and activities for their patrons. If you're traveling to explore a city or country, that's one thing, but some people travel to visit famous and highly rated hotels.

I prefer Hilton brand. I'm a Gold member with my current credit card and we end up with a handfull of free/reduced nights per year.

My go to has typically been the Hilton Garden Inn because they always have a restaurant on sight. But with kids now we lock for more Hilton's family suites e.g Homewood Suites .

chains...Westin, the W, intercontinental, or Kimpton hotels, four seasons as well if you coughing up that kind of dough.

Marriott and Hilton are hit or miss to me, unless is a JW.

Too many to name as far a one off hotels, but the Leela palace in Udaipur, India and wherever I stayed in Bali :ohlawd:
