I'm playing New Super Mario Bros...whatever on Wii U. Even though it sounds like a straight up orgy in my house right now (we on that multiplayer shyt and screaming like porn stars), these new games are NOTHING like the old games. I'll be the rare one and say I didn't like any on the 64. Super Mario World is still my fave (and I don't care what anybody says, there were 92 levels, not 96). And there is no better Mario Kart than the one on SNES. Battle Mode? You'd get riiiiiight up close to somebody and BAM!!!!! Good times, good times.
I know people argue in favor of SMB 3 being the GOAT, and I think it's a tight second. But I think SMW had better power-ups. Remember when you could put on that cape and just float the fukk from beginning to end? This game has some bytch-ass cape where you can only dip and come back up one time. ONE TIME, BREHS!!!! Da fuq???
Or better yet, remember when you would jump off Yoshi's back to get some extra height? I still do that, and I always feel bad for the guys. Oh, and I used to use the little Yoshis to swim really fast. Oh! And remember when all the colored Yoshis (shut up) used to do different things? The yellow one pounded sand and the blue one flew, and so on. And you had to get those switches to make all those invisible blocks turn color?
I will say that even though I don't put the Galaxy games anywhere near GOAT status (top five, no higher than three - and as far as I'm concerned, they're the same game), it unquestionably had the best music. And NSMB on the Wii? Shiiiit, I think that game was the #1 cause of gamer divorces. You could grow to HATE somebody playing that game. And once they started making fan games? If you had a softmodded Wii, you had so much fun playing those.
Remember Mario 2? Right, me neither.
What say you, Coli?
*edit* Okay, I can see where this one is just crazy, so I'll break it up like this:
Best platformer
Best 3D game
Best RPG (I'm going with Thousand-Year Door on this one)
Best Mario Kart
