Recall I said "In retrospect." At the time I REALLY felt his music, especially "Im Ready". Thing is when I look back, he had one of those voices that sounded forced and coached, rarely a smooth, natural note. Mind you, when he was a kid, I heard WAY more potential (mofo was older than me, but I got to hear most of my moms collection) and I figured he would grow into a legit crooner. Instead, to me, he had that Karaoke/shower sound. Better than most people, but in need of some serious refining. I feel like especially with the beats we were dealing with at the time, soft and airy type, he had it easier being in his lane. He just wasn't that good to me. I guess ill eat a neg for my opinion, if it makes you happy.
