Just 2 months away :wow:

I have an itinerary planned pretty much but I'm still curious about a few things: how much do drinks at bars typically cost, how tipping works, and the cheapest way to get Euros (most bars there are cash only, so I'll need to either go to the ATM or go to an exchange place in New York before my trip).

As far as nightlife goes, I'm gonna probably barhop around Neukolln (where I'm staying), Kreuzberg, and Friedrichstain, and will be going to some of the clubs mentioned earlier.

Tipping is included in the price of everything. Tip only if you feel you had REALLY good service. For me I found the cheapest way to get Euros is to just hit an ATM once I reach. To be safe I'd only trust an ATM attached to a bank.

It sounds like you got a good number of nightlife suggestions. I never quite cracked the nightlife "code" when I visited but I still had a good time :ehh: I find European women to be more forward than american women so if they see you in the club and want to smash they'll let you know

There will be Turks there don't worry about that.

It's not worth going all the way to Hamburg just for a Sauna Club. As an American generally speaking your highest hit-rate is going to be in the south. If you really want to see something else go to one of the US Army clubs. Saying that I haven't been to one in years so cannot give you any surefire information. There was one is Kaiserlauten but it is not good enough to travel all the way there.

US Army clubs are about as American as it gets in Germany and that is where you success rate is going to be the highest.

The best club in the region is a long way away nr. the western gemany border. It's on a Sunday night and is a massive hip-hop club that attracts people mainly from 4 countries - France, Holland, Germany and Belgium.

I haven't been there for years though. Hot Sunday Nights - Mondial

WARNING: but like I an I said double check all the clubs online first as I haven't been to those places for a while.

That club looks like a sausage fest

I hit a visiting German student at a party. She was sexy and had easy convo. Never been to Germany though. Always heard brehs eat there from friends.

I'm here :mjlit:

I was too wiped out to really do anything thanks to that long ass trip, so I just walked around Neukolln and got something to eat. This neighborhood seems like a mix of Arab/Turkish and white hipsters. Karl Marx Strase is lined with Kebab shops and shisha lounges.
Beer and food is pretty cheap here, even with that 19% sales tax.

Note to self: never take a connecting flight again, and never book a flight during my sleep hours. I thought that the overnight flight would be good and help me fall asleep, but I just felt like shyt since I was tired and couldn't fall asleep.

I gotta say, Berlin is so much different from most American's idea of Germany. I've seen way more Kebab shops than German restaurants so far.
It kinda feels like a European NYC, but even more urban.

Had my first Doner today and it was really good, only cost 4 Euros and it was the size of a Chipotle burrito

No, believe it or not it's actually not super easy to find German restaurants. Near my hotel there are a million Turkish and Arab restaurants, several Italian restaurants, and a few Asian restaurants.
I do want to find a German restaurant when I get the chance.

Last night was my first time really going out, but I didn't talk to any girls. I went to some cool bars and there were a lot of hot girls, but I didn't get the chance to talk to any. I'm not the type to go up to random girls (especially in another country where I don't speak the language), I need some sort of ice breaker. I do actually say that I'm from New York rather than saying "America", though. I think that's one of the few states most Europeans know about.
Going out is so cheap here if you drink beer, I spent like 15 Euros last night and got wasted.
Most of the beer here tastes pretty much the same, but it is good.

I will say, I'm personally a tad uncomfortable here knowing barely any German. It's not like Denmark or Sweden here where every young/youngish person speaks English, there have been times when I've came across people who didn't speak English. And I'm totally fine with that, it's my fault for not studying German harder.

Also, the girls here are pretty attractive.
