if nash was more over than goldberg then perhaps you could enlighten me as to why kevin nash, the honorary booker, thought it was more important to protect goldberg moving forward instead of himself.

he had to use a TAZER to win

if nash was the hotter commodity moving forward then why couldn't he just beat goldberg clean? i mean that's what you're saying right? that there was more money in nash than there was in goldberg?
Why would you NOT protect Goldberg? :what:

the real question is if kevin nash was more over like you claim, why would you NOT protect kevin nash and portray him as the clear inferior?
He won the match, there was money in the rematch by protecting Goldberg which is how they were able to sell out the Georgia Dome the next week :what:

For whatever reason, I remember Booker T hitting with a Rock Bottom as he turned around or something and he beat him. But I think it was one of those WM 6 things where he tried to kick out after the 3 count to keep up the invinicibility factor.

The ckeanest L he ever took was to Steiner.

Also, anyone who argues that Nash wasn't as popular as Goldberg in late '98 just needs to go back and watch stuff. Both Nash and DDP were red hot in late '98. One of the biggest pops ever is DDP hitting Goldberg with the Diamond Cutter. Not that Goldberg wasn't huge, but it's a myth that he was head and shoulders above everyone else.

goldberg was for a while..arguably hottest babyface in the biz at some points...but youre right in that it wasnt ALWAYS that way. there was a bit of goldberg fatigue here and there and nash/sting/ddp were right there in his tier

Goldberg in the middle of 98 waa hotter than anyone in pro wrestling. There was an attitude from fans by the fall/winter. But no one in WCW was out drawing him and when he fell with a tazer, the company never really recovered. That and the fingerpoke too. It butchers them and then Rock got hot in early 99 and it was checkmate.

People don't understand the differences between drawing and crowd reactions too. RVD and Nash were over but weren't filling it up like Goldberg was.

I think you're right. The only people who'd come close is Hogan/Cena but Goldberg for the streak alone must go down as the strongest booked. Especially because of the generation it was done in.

According to cagematch John Cena has about an 80% win rate while Goldberg has an 83% win rate. To put that in perspective though, john Cena has about 1500 more matches. I wasnt really watching wrestling during John's run but how the fukk is that accepted. Last year 94%, 2013 95%, 2005 93%:why:

There are only 5 people who beat Goldberg.

1) Kevin Nash via outside interference
2) Bret Hart via outside interference
3) Booker T via outside interference
4) Scott Steiner via outside interference but it was a No DQ match :ld:
5) Triple H via outside interference
So what you are really saying is... Outside Interference is Goldberg's greatest enemy and rival :lupe:

He was a heel that would just get DQd if he was going to lose or he got annoyed enough. He has said himself that he wrestled in a time period where you simply had to protect yourself as a talent and he refused to get pinned by anyone. Its not like they were booking him to be some unstoppable force. Completely different imo:yeshrug:

For what it's worth he put over Tensai clean.

Sidenote it's amazing how Warrior, Piper, Hogan, etc. could just refuse to get pinned in their era.
