Funny how people back in the 90s never had a problem with this shyt at all. This country is all a scam. Fortunately, I may have something up my sleeve.

I monitor my credit report and look for inaccuracies. If I see one, I dispute it and it is removed in less than 30 days.

That's great, but what if you are already low on money with bad credit? Now you're gonna pay 15/mth for your credit score? :ld:

Bad credit is a trap and it's hard to get out. Once you have bad credit you've got to pay more for loans, insurance it's tougher to get a good job. If you made people with good credit have to pay the same amount as people with bad credit then a lot of them would have bad credit too:leostare:

I agree that the system is flawed, but I worked for a sub-prime mortgage company and helped people fix their credit to obtain home loans for a little over half a decade. It is not hopeless.

That's why you've got bad credit, quit borrowing money!! You can easily repair your credit but people try to borrow their way out of debt and it's stupid. if you have trouble managing the debt you have, incurring more makes no sense.

you aren't responsible for your relatives credit reports you are however responsible for yours. just like you're responsible for your drivers record and criminal record.

many employers do wanna know your GPA as well. that's not a universal judge of character here either but we're generalizing here and when people generalize there are often many casualties of those generalizations that don't apply.

It's a character issue. :umad:

Its stupidity....I had a low credit score because I never had credit cards, borrowed money or leased a car...this is because I never needed to because I was sitting on a lot of cash

I had to jump through hoops to get my mortgage and I had to drop a large chunk upfront because of it.... very silly

Who is your mortgage with?

You should have went with a bank that still does manual underwriting. The local banks and some credit unions still offer it.

Is it really though?

Having bad credit makes you a thief now? No, it just (most likely) means you make poor money decisions or are irresponsible with YOUR money or... the likeliest... you just hit a hard time financially where you lost a job or got some medical expenses or something.

YOUR SITUATION CAN MAKE YOU DO SOMETHING YOU WOULDN'T NORMALLY DO. COMPANIES HAVE TO LOOK OUT FOR THEMSELVES TOO. NOT SAYING THAT SOME COMPANIES DON'T TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THIS AND USE IT FOR SHADY HIRING PRACTICES.

Why would anyone hire an irresponsible person? You can't trust some a$$hole who can't pay the minimum ($25) payment on his Best Buy card (on time), to show up for work on time....

Now if you don't have any credit at all... then they can't tell anything about you... but neither can lenders.. so catch 22 I guess.

I'm glad this came up. As a young dude I shot myself in the foot this way.

I didn't want to owe anybody a damn thing. If I didn't have the money for ish, then I did without. If it was something I needed, I stacked my li'l ol' job bundle I had until I got it. By the time I finished school and was trying to boss up, interviewers were giving me the :leostare: because they wanted to know how a young hitta was fresh outta school with no student loans and no paper trail. I know that's the reason I got thrown in dem bushes a couple of times.

The couple of licks I did hit were because a HR person *gasp* did some research and checked my references to see what my character was. Heaven forbid they still do that...
