I/O psych degree at the master level u can be entering the field at 65k and be making 6 figures by 10-15 years. Can go into HR, Managerial, Consultant, private sector (way more money), etc. Most people go for their phd for the big bucks.

Social work at the master level u can start off with the same amount if ur licensed social worker. Open up your own practice if ur a licensed clinical social worker. Its broad tho so theres many things you can do with the degree. There is a high demand for therapist, especially black males.

Im torn between the two since im currently applying to master programs. I have a strong interest in mental health but also interested with the correlation of business and behavior. Im applying to both programs but so far leaning more into social work.

It's really a female profession? Well that dude that works as a health inspector is :wrist:

Damn it sounded like a easy job, with no math. damn!

Yeah man it's dope i took a few courses in college. Its pretty laid back, and there's a lot dope job prospects that let you be your own boss. It's mainly a female profession which means males get promoted quicker :yeshrug:

Median pay is 60k

  • Business Degree. Increase you're prospectus through double major combo either 1. Finance and Accounting 2. Economics and Finance.
  • Sales. Highest risk/reward path known to man. Based on 'research' most lucrative ones are SaaS / B2B Enterprise / Telecom - Network Equipment / Insurance. These are salesmen who can make upwards of 250K. However, sales boils down to opportunity. Head over to r/sales and look around you'll see Solar Panel - Car Salesmen pulling 6 figures. There are two paths. 1. Base + Commission 2. All Commission.
  • Real Estate: IDK where you're at but entry often involves a licence. There are companies which recruit for new agents and will pay for the course.

Good ass info!

I think with accounting and finance I need to be well in math?

For sales and real estate.

I'm very reserved, so idk how that would work.

But I'm thinking about sales to make some decent money while in school.

I know someone who does real estate maybe I can work with them. I don't know anything about it tho.

I'm seriously thinking about doing that.
do it breh. and surprisingly there is very little math involved. plus by the time your done you'll be making more than most college graduates for a fraction of the cost.

No. There's a reason Business doesn't qualify in S-T-E-M. Calculation wise the hardest thing you'll have be exposed to is 'high school' arithmetic + statistics. Which is done to help students get used to Excel. From there it boils down to theory application (major) and data extrapolation. Math wise high school physics/calculus was harder....could be me though. If I can give you a piece of advise - truly learn/master the fundamentals, don't cram.

Sales/Real Estate: I feel you. I'm kinda the same but when you're young, broke with no experience you gotta hustle. I tried D2D sales for summer. It was a mental grind. Try being a reserved breh living in NZ (cactopia) & asking for donations in a industry known for low returns. High earning sales isn't a part time thing. Its a full committed role. You (will) need to & are encouraged to go above and beyond (for your own sake). At that point I was presented with 2 options. 1. Uni 2. Sales. I choose school. However, I am looking for part time placements (with base + commission).

I feel like I am worse the average, I always was the worse in my class. I would be a fool with my skill level to try to be an engineer.

Many have said it isn't cut for anybody, many people drop out of it, I have no passion for it, I just want money, and I'm trash at math, so I feel I would be wasting valuable time and money trying to do it. It's basically, if they can't do it, how the hell can I?

I'm not being negative, just realistic.

Thanks for your help bro, I might just try it out tho. The pay makes me want to.

I assure you that you're no worse off than the average person at Math. Like I said, there are far too many resources available to have this much of an aversion to Mathematics.
