If you like graphic design then you'd be better taking a couple of classes to get a certificate and then start doing work on the side. Check out churches, small concert halls or something. Also look for graphic designer jobs on Craigslist or a job site and see what type of skills they require.
Go to a community college or university near you and network with some marketing majors. You can get some cheap help and may do some design work for them in exchange.
They ably pay $ 10/HR in Atlanta but it's easy work, their warehouses are climate controlled.try an amazon warehouse

It's a lot of pressure. I think the base salary is actually pretty low but because you make commission the potential is high.
