If phil was coach, despite this team not having to fight for an 8 seed, Kobe's career wouldn't be over. How many times have we seen Phil check Kobe's ego over the years? maybe hundreds. He stayed in because nobody asked him to come out. He's gonna keep playing because he wants to win the game and nobody is making a judgement call objectively like a coach should. Parker won the finals MVP because he had an exploitable matchup against a one-legged Larry Hughes, dumb ass, did you even watch the playoffs that year? Duncan was the #1 option and leading scorer all through the season and the playoffs up until the finals. He averaged 22 and 11 and shot 52% in the playoffs that year.
He was wise and humble enough to allow a teammate to take advantage of a matchup in the finals. He's not going to take more shots than Shaq and make 38% of them in the finals against the Pistons like your masturbatory aid.
