AI isn't new, AI as a type of technology is not even intelligence in the manner that human understand the word.

Advancement in technology doesn't change the nature of what a computer is.
Do you understand that?
What a computer is hasn't fundamentally changed from the first computers.
They have simply gotten faster in being able to process information.
When quantum computer or if, it becomes dominant won't change what a computer is doing at the basic level.

What you are saying again tells me you don't have a fundamental level understanding of the technology involved.
Computers don't think. Computers don't have intelligence.
Computers do what they are told. PERIOD.
AI doesn't change that.
You can pump all the data in the world , the computer has to be told what information to pull, how to pull it, it has to be programmed in how to process it, how to make connections, how to look for patterns, what patterns are optimal, all of that requires people at every step for the programming and teh validation.
It is still extremely limited in application because you don't know what is good or bad or the connections being made based off the code until a topic or subject is brought up, and it would then still require shapping of the algorithm.

So again just like all things that can be automated, which AI is a form of higher level automation, it has strengths and it has built in limitations due to the very defined capabilities of what computers can actually do.

AGain if you think skynet is real, that is fiction, that has no connection to reality.

But that’s still a wrench physically, nothing changed about the wrench except the material used and the process that made it. You could say that about computers they became more compact physically with double the power. But what about the computational component yes we input a bunch of 1, 0s to get an output but we’re doing it at much greater/faster speeds we’ve entered quantum computing. That alone is revolutionary and can be considered the infant stages of consciousness depending on who you ask. We don’t even understand wave-particle duality. That’s a mystery to most physicists

They just gave everyone at my firm access fo copilot. The roles I was gunning for are pretty much dead in their current state. They're either going to combine them or have our team take on this task, piece by piece. One of the stipulations was someone proficient in VBA....our boomer managers don't have the patience to learn it.

The speed and size is revolutionary but what it isn't isn't changing.
