i bet Lebron on the heat 2014 could run a 3.6
Explain how it tore itself apart. I wanna read this.Bo Jackson was so fast and explosive his body literally tore itself apart when he ran. He actually had to learn to slow down when he played baseball. Hell he became a better runningback when he learned to wait for his holes to open up (nh). He probably didn't run a 4.13 or whatever but he could easily run a 4.3.

NFL athletes are another level above NBA athletes, 6'6" athletes are rarely gonna have the kind of hops that the most elite normal-sized athletes have, and someone raised in the 1970s without modern training isn't likely to be at the same level as modern athletes.what difference does it make if it isn't in combine history. NBA MEASURES RUNNING VERTICALS
NFL MEASURES STANDING VERTICALS
when they say 48 they meaning running vert
Chris Conley has the highest STANDING VERT at 45 inches
the highest the nba was set by hamidou diallo at 44.5 inches
so conley more than likely has 48+ running vert himself and yet there is no way mj had it?
A 7'1" man with a 50 inch vertical would have put his head 17 inches ABOVE the rim.I’m glad you put that disclaimer at the end....
Wilt may have had a 50 inch vertical
growing up with bo and deion..
i didn't realize just how fukking ridiculous it was that they played both sports like that.
like i knew it was something special.. but there were 2 dudes doing it already.. surely, there'd be more to come.
but nope
How dare you disrespect Tim Tebow like thatgrowing up with bo and deion..

You assume a test running vert is the same as in game vert. And you asssume draft conditioning is the same as in season conditioning. And you have to realize nfl athletes are packing a lot more weight per inch than nba players and players are heavier now than in the 70's -80'sNFL athletes are another level above NBA athletes, 6'6" athletes are rarely gonna have the kind of hops that the most elite normal-sized athletes have, and someone raised in the 1970s without modern training isn't likely to be at the same level as modern athletes.
When Jordan was tested in college, they claimed a 36" standing vertical and a 45" running vertical. However, that was kind of a bs test, as they used video recordings of repeated jumps to project how high he was jumping, rather than requiring him to actually hit a target. If it was more the test where he got two shots to hit a target and not just projecting out his absolute max, it almost certainly would have been shorter. So I'd guess a 42-43" vertical.
A 42-43" vertical would mean at his peak Jordan would hit his head on the rim. A 48" vertical would mean Jordan with his head 6" above the rim. Which one of those reflects reality?
A 7'1" man with a 50 inch vertical would have put his head 17 inches ABOVE the rim.
Imagine Wilt hitting the rim at his nipple line.![]()
