But yeah these program numbers are going to increase and increase. We currently are operating in severe budget deficits that are growing and growing. I think in ending these programs federally the US not only saves money but provides people better service than what they get in Medicare which could be alieviated with the end of the prohibition on HSAs and solve SS with transfers to RSAs

None of this is viable for an aging population in a drastically shrinking job market…. If you paid into social security for 30 years you deserve your full payout as expected

when social security was started, it paid out at 65, and life expectancy was 68. now it still pays out at 65, but life expectancy is 80. what part of that is sustainable?

Social security was designed for the younger new entries to pay for the present day entries, thats the funding mechanism, which is a traditional ponzi scheme.
Hell the fact that SS isn't even your account but functions more as government insurance is even worse.
We also need to go into how black americans, especially black men pay into it but historically never got any money out of it like black women, white men, white women do to comparatively early ages of death. Meaning they money they spent doesn't transfer to their kids or family, it goes to the whites and black women to enjoy. That isn't right either.

Job market hurts, population hurts too, but its really the design. Why are you defensive over a literal ponzi scheme when you can take an alternative that gives people the money they put in it, make it tax free, make it tax free for investments and investment profits, and make it tax free on withdrawals when hitting retirment age? Also make it transferable so that now when a person passes away they can transfer their wealth to their children.

Why would you not want that? Instead of social security as it is today?
