Its posted in the article. National holidays are paid time off. Adding even 1 additional day amounts to huge costs. They basically saying we'll give you Juneteenth but we don't want to pay you extra for it.

They're not proposing this out of some moral objection to Columbus Day. They're only doing this because they feel that's too many days off.

So they're actually planning to fukk over federal workers, take away one of their vacation days so shyt is even harder for them to plan around.

Nah, we should find a day that's actually significant to Native Americans and make that a holiday. And then remove Colonizer's Day altogether.
Just give us both days off. I could care less about the Italian colonizer but the free day off is needed for a country that doesn't have mandated vacation time.
