It really depends on if the Lion can get the Gorillas neck on the first strike, if not it could be body slam central. Yeah Lions have sharp claws, but Gorillas have been observed bending steel bars, and their grip strength is retarded. Think of this, Chimps are much stronger than us and even the biggest ones don't go much higher than 200lbs, silverback Gorillas can tip the scales at 500lbs.

They are th e apex predator of the sea...stronger, smarter, and more capable hunters than anything else. Plus besides tall grass their areas are not as thick with vegetation. This is why they hunt in packs... jungle cats tend to be more solo but lions are in sparse Forrest and grassland I.e. open field.

Taking all this into consideration u can see why your talking shyt. Tigers are also larger than lions but when matched pound for pound they get their ass beat... all male lions do is practice for combat
