Your mistake was spending $100+ on a spyware Web browser. You can't use Office on it. Nor can you do anything without Internet on it. And forget about hard drive storage.

install crouton (i run unity, default install is xfce i believe), its a stripped down version of ubuntu, you can run it side by side of chrome OS. its the only reason i bought a chromebook in the first place, i dont think ive even used the chrome OS other than to connect to wifi. ubuntu is a distro of linux. it'll allow you to run actual programs instead of just chrome OS apps. its not as easy as windows or mac but if you want "full power" of your chromebook then its the only option
