Man take the job with your pops. Are you trying to wait til you're 30 to possibly get a bump at a restaurant? Your pops job will look better on the resume and you got a built in contact already. fukk loyalty to a company, do what's best for your job history and climb how works best for you. Are you at IHOP?

I would stay with what you like to do, which seems like the restaurant thing. Also working with family is not always the best thing especially if you dont own that business. I would also recommend for you since your concerned about moving up the ladder with the restaurant company, to take business classes or any other classes for credentialing so you can move up faster and have some education behind it. Especially if your black because that will solidify your place essentially.

this, if you put in some extra work with school you can probably move up the ladder faster, plus you have extra job security with the restaurant. also, if the job with your pops goes sour, you probably won't be able to slide into a manager position at another restaurant or even the one you're currently working at if they take you back; you'll be working from the bottom up again and those years of hard work you've put in would go to waste. If you didn't have fam though I might've told you to roll with your pops though, but as of now, job security has to be one of your biggest priorities.

You should've let us know that in the first post...unless its Chipotle u gotta realize your race can play a part in you advancing and what role they'll give you...roll with pops,if they really luv you like that you can put your two weeks in,claim you have a family issue you have to deal with and come back....if its going to fall through it will probaly fall thru quicker than 5 years.
