Got caught for plagarism

I came in here to clown you but...
you're already under a lot of stress and I'm feeling nice today.
Suffice to say, if you get off easy from this don't do that shyt again. You'd be surprised how easy it is to get caught plagiarizing. Professors study and work on this stuff for decades, they eat breathe and live it. And they see your work all semester. It's very easy for them to tell if you submit something that isn't your own, especially if you rip it off the Internet. Some schools even have special programs they buy that are designed to catch cheaters when they run assignments through them.
The only way people get away with plagiarism is if the professors and TAs don't actually care enough to report you or decide not to scrutinize students. When I was working as a TA, I might let shyt slide if the person usually worked hard or wasn't irritating. Other TAs did the same thing.
I know a guy that got kicked out of his PhD program when it was down to the wire and the school took away his money and made him PAY THAT shyt BACK. A stipend, the tuition, everything that they gave him at no cost when he got in...and he has no MS, no PhM, no PhD to show for it. Just broke with at negative cost with a Bachelors degree.

wtf? I'd never plagiarize because everything that I could ever write or say would be most eloquent in my own words. Why would a Mercedes designer steal from a Ford designer?

Should have told your professor that you are a single parent, who's spare time is spent working to support your child, and that the due date for the paper snuck up on you, and then you panicked, and just tried to turn in anything........And you would have beenI had a programming project due that was worth 20% of my subject, it was related to creating some kind of Java application. I used one of them "Assignment Expert" websites on the internet to get it done for me coz I couldn't be bothered doing it (ok it was kinda hard).
Long story short the assignment I received and submitted turned out to be openly available on the internet. In fact a quick google search of the Assignment title could give you a direct link to the exact code I submitted.
My Indian professor sent me an email the other day to set up a meeting with her so we could "discuss" my submission. I knew something was wrong right away because the semester was over and we have finished our finals. I found out it was available on the internet hours before the meeting after a hail mary google search (I was previously convinced it was original) and spent a whole night studying the code in case she wanted to quiz me.
I told her the truth and gave her a kinda good story why I did it, she kinda bought it. She said the consequences were grave and could show up on my academic record, but said she'd rather try mitigate the situation. She said she will talk with her seniors about it first (she's an Ass. Prof).
I'm just so mad, especially at myself for doing something so stupid. If I had known the code was available online I would've done it my damn self. I'm really feeling down and i hate myself. I really needed a good grade for this unit. But I guess I have learned a hard lesson.
ps I don't know why I'm posting this here, but I hardly post so please cut me some slack. Maybe someone here has had similar experiences..?

thing is i had the previous project that was worth 10% done by the same company and got a pretty good grade
kinda gave me overconfidence in them and decided to use their services again for the second one.
as for asking for classsmates help, thing is i'm the only black person in the subject (and only two in the course) and find it difficult to ask these white/asian folk for help. i prolly can, but i ****ing hate them. i am a very introverted person so that doesn't help either.

I thank my Indian/Asian friends everyday for helping me get through engineering after my wack-ass high school didn't prepare me for shyt. Not to mention, all the women you could meet outside of your circle.What do you hate them for? Just try to talk to them. Sure, some of their are ass fukking losers who won't even lend you a god damned pencil because of your skin, but the majority are prolly some cool cats
A big part of being a success in college is learning to ask for help.
There is nothing wrong with that, whether via professors or other students. If someone gives you attitude or tries to talk you down, talk to someone else. You don't get ahead in life by avoiding people and having discussions that could increase your own knowledge.
The most beneficial thing I learned from college was how to mine knowledge from people I did not know.

He asked another @Dirk Diggler to do his work for him, and instead of PM'ing him the code, he put the code in the thread, and his teacher caught him.

I will update this thread in about a week after I find out the final outcome of this incident (whether I get booted, get a zero etc) , hopefully others may learn something from this.

i remember that thread because i was taking the same c++ class. dirk helped me out a ton but i still failed that class. fukk computer science.

Dude the best thing is to come up with a real good excuse as to why you didn't have the time to do it and you resorted to your actions. I've see people bring in death certificates of family to get out of academic probation. You took took the death real bad and were grieving.
I've seen people bring in a birth certificate; a newborn baby to your family will take up a lot of your time.
The timing has to be spot on though. And of course you need to get your acting game on.
From now on, any sentence that you think MIGHT be on the net somewhere. Put it in quotations and Google it. If you need that sentence, quote it, list the cite and elaborate bs on it.
