Got caught for plagarism

ayo i just want to clarify that this isn't some kind of essay or something. it's a very specialized type of programming task, you can't just take a line of code and google it (right?). i dunno, for some reason it didn't occur to me other colleges/institutions handed out the same task. i hope you understand where i'm coming from. i agree it was still sloppy and i could've taken more precaution, but hindsight is always 20/20.

Yea, I think most people got the wrong assumption, but you STILL have to cover your tracks, it's not even difficult, just takes a minimal amount of effort. Like Sheff said earlier, you shouldn't have just left that up to chance like that. You got sloppy with your dealings.

Best case scenario, you are going to get 0 on the assignment... thats not up for debate... that will happen in any accredited university, there wont be a make up assignment.

its 20% of your mark so you might get C- or something like that.

There is also a pretty good chance that you fail the class... if this happens to you dont panic its not the end of the world. your last 60 ucw... or last 2 years is what matters in terms of gpa for an post graduate degree...

you should honestly just be thankful you wont have anything on your record... chalk it up as a loss and move on.

It's a stretch, but I'm on holidays now and got nothing to lose.

My course is a 3 year degree, I'm already in my last 2 years.

I guess you still have a chance. I remember certain professors threatened students an instant failure for the crime of plaigarism, and when push come to shove, they did it.

Man i can really relate to this shyt. The only reason i passed my programming classes was because i was stealing code.

See at GT we had this huge file sharing network that a lot of students didnt know existed. It was like when you saved something to a certain drive on your computer it was automatically file shared unless you put a password on that drive. Some people were saving everything they did to that drive without knowing it was being file shared. Like they thought it was the C drive or something. So yeah, one night after going through peoples shyt looking for movies, games, and porn i got the bright idea to look for CS homework too. Hit the motherload and didnt do a single homework assignment myself for the rest of the semester. I was smart enough to change the name of the project, some lines of code, and the comments though. Some of the students forgot to change shyt and just submitted it, straight up stolen. They ended up being expelled.

That a$$hole must have found out people were on his drive because he password protected it the next semester when i took Java. I had to actually beg them fukkin chinese and indian cats in class to help a nikka out.

this happened to me before..the problem was it was my C++ code that was stolen...a cat in the class took advantage of the fact I didn't log out of the computer in the lab all the way..so he went in and grabbed my programs out and shared them with ppl in another class
