Why wouldn't they? Sounds like a layup for the police and loss prevention. The prevention dude probably has nice crisp HD footage of him stealing, his CC info/personal info....and nice crisp HD video footage of his car. Probably took 10mins to put together and handover to the local law enforcement.

It's more complicated than that. For example there's no guarantee the credit card used actually belongs to him (could be ID theft) or that the vehicle is registered to him ( could be stolen or his mama's car). Sure they could turn it over to police to look into but for something as minor as stealing supplements don't expect an actual investigation.

I worked in retail before and I learned the majority of shoplifters and scammers are never caught or prosecuted. The loss has to be over a certain dollar amount for it to be considered a felony, even with that felony classification it still needs to be egregious enough for law enforcement to pursue.

I was off to the races and put small items in my pockets and stuffed them when i hid in the blind spot of the cameras. I head up to the line and I'm about to walk out of the store with $200 worth of supplements, but am only about to pay for $70 of it . Not bad young king, not bad
