The only job I got” fired “ was a menial wack ass job where the boss was a hater 15 plus years later looking where I’m at now in my actual degree field I laugh at that dumb shyt

There's always something to do....

Get some certifications outside of your degree. HVAC, CDL, Electrical, Welding, something. You want to have more than one field to make a living in, just in case you have another job loss down the road.
You never know when you might just get tired of the environment you're in either.

Low skilled and low paying jobs like that are a dime a dozen. They are revolving doors of people willing to put up with a bunch of shyt for the bare minimum. You’ll understand once you start your actual career and look back on it. I was down in the dumps for a long time cause i had so many wack jobs like that and I thought thats what life was until i started a job in my field.

The recent job I have now, I'm lucky that I had a good team to help me work harder to be more efficient. I've realized this late in my life is that I'm more comfortable working in a team that actually likes to communicate ideas and assists me whenever I need help so I can do the same onto other employees. My boss knows how determined I am and tells me he appreciated it. If I was in a shytty job with rude ass coworkers, I would not push myself to work my ass like a slave.
I did that before, but only in hopes of getting promoted, but it was just to take advantage of me.
Always make sure you find a much better work environment that's suitable for YOU, OP.
Times is rough, don't let it destroy you.

Aight, first and foremost, I'm not someone who drops threads. I just lurk till something is interesting.

But, I decided to drop a thread because I'm drunk as shyt and feeling slighted. Aight so I'm 22, and been lurking the coil since I was 15, this site basically raised me lowkey so I feel like yall will get me and if not, whatever.
My boss was an Italian dude from the Bronx, he seemed nice enough but he let me go without a fukking THOUGHT.
Idk truthfully, it was my first job since college so I'm salty as fukk. He fired me after TWO weeks because I "didn't pick it up fast enough." Idk I knew I was done my last week 'cuz he stopped being friendly to me and just treated me like a number. I was the sole black dude there so it sucked but I'm hoping shyt gets better.
Idk I graduated college with an Econ degree and a psych minor, I just wanna be successful. I've been writing books n shyt but I just wanna make it big.
Truth, Idk why I'm dropping this on this forum, but I just wanted to vent and I know yall listen, or at least view. So thank you.

Dude, this EXACT same thing happened to me when I was 19 years old (I'm 38 now).

I used to work at ths fukkin' place where it was only 2 brothers that the day I started, me & this other Black dude.

The other Black dude was gone the VERY NEXT DAY after I started, so I'm like.

Now, I'm the only Black dude working there for like 2 weeks, until they hired this White kid and so me & this White kid were the two newish guys and they gave this CAC the red carpet treatment and he's hanging out with all the managers and shyt on his VERY FIRST DAY on the job and I've been there for weeks and this kid is like .

I aint gonna lie, the White boy was cool and wasn't no a$$hole or nothing, but the other CACs who actually ran the place were.

So, right after they hire the White boy, the VERY NEXT DAY the boss calls me into the office and tells me EXACTLY what your boss told you that "I wasn't getting it quick enough or some shyt like that"

And I'm like because this was a LOW paying ass LOW skilled job that only at the time paid me $6.35 and hour, G. (This was 2001)

It's crazy because all these years I used to wonder if it was CACs playing games with me and I assumed it was, but I didn't have the proof that it was some racist shyt, but hearing your story makes me remember that shyt and realize that they do this shyt to us when we're young and naive about the workplace

If I got any advice for you young man, it's get you either some sort of education like a degree or something OR get you some sort of trade/skill.

I bounced around for my whole 20s lost and being fukked up being hard-headed.

Truck driving, HVAC, electrical shyt, IT, any of that shyt.

I got lucky & got a forklift license fukking around at my local work board and aint looked back
