I LOVE Schneider drivers!! Every one of y’all are so kind & understanding that ur loads may not be ready when you walk in. If I have a room full of drivers plus700 phone calls & constantly running back and forth, y’all wait patiently until I can get to you. I hear they start y’all off good too.

Does anyone have any input for owner operators? I dont have my CDL but will have truck within the next 6 weeks. I have an ad out now and am vetting potential drivers now.

I dont plan to book from the load board, but want the 3rd party company im signed on to or a broker company to book the loads for the driver. Alot of companies i see are trying to pay around $1.08 per mile + FSC:mjcry:

Am i getting jipped here? What drew me in to this field was the prospect of making 2-2.5k per week (split with the driver) running about 2500 miles. Now im taking a step back and reassessing bc a breh told me owner operators should be looking to bring in between 5-8k per week.

Had the back from hell about 20 minutes ago. Made the mistake of sliding tandems all the way to the back like they asked before putting it in the hole. It was dark and I had to back in between two other trucks on a tight dock. Took two drivers to guide me in. I still can't back up for shyt. :wow:

Best time is to practice at truck stops during the day when it’s empty. Drive in there try it a few times and then keep driving.

Backing into docks and parking is still the most frustrating aspect of the job. I'm getting better at it but I never look forward to it.

Start and set up your backing at a 45 degree angle. Turn your wheel towards the parking space dock area slowly (one full turn) while backing up. Then turn your steering left then right, basically wiggling your trailer inside the dock, which ever at the moment looks right

Think I’m gonna go try to go the Schneider lease choice route this time next year or sign to a company that pays 90% rev and you book your own loads.

Currently during the lease purchase thing at a company that pays by the mile in a band. It’s like 1.24-.94 a mile depending on the loaded miles.+ fsc. Been doing it for a lil under a year.

It’s the company I started my cdl with, been with them 3 years. I just think it’s time to move on to better opportunities. Schneider choice lease looks nice, hoping I can get into on of the companies paying 90% though. Gonna need to bring my own truck and a trlr though. Gonna run hard the rest of the year+ early next year and make the jump. Until then I’m doing a lot of research in preparation for the move. Reading about load boards/ brokers and things like that.

Them t680s look nice as hell.
