Update:Good looks brother, I figured this was the case, just needed that kick in the ass. Ima update once I start the school and see how things go.
Decided to go for the auto.
Made this same post on Boxden but, I went to a school in Staten Island, paid 3k for about 20 classes in total, was taking the express bus everyday for two weeks to go there….failed. The instructor was cool but he has a method that is more about understanding the “science” of the truck that was messing me up a bit.
The maneuvers is really what gets you tho. The pre trip around the truck and the in cabin inspection was easy, but the offset maneuver goddamn. You start panicking if you don’t see the cones or you just get nervous being in front of an examiner and you done.
So I ended up going to a different school in Long Island called Sunny Truck Driving School. Paid 1k for 3 classes and the road test, passed it on Friday. Biggest key was the two instructors I had. They were chill as fukk & let you drive through your mistakes to figure it out without being demanding.
I been cheezing and screaming out loud randomly I got my CDL all goddamn weekend
First thought is to go on indeed and check out jobs for new drivers, maybe check out mom and pop companies to build up experience. I’m just excited about all this, 34, no kids, no girl, yessiriski.
