Too late. They've gotten too many folks used to working for peanuts. Staying out for a month for dollar general manager pay :mjlol:

I saw the writing on the wall a few years ago. If you ain't specialized, LTL, or drive for Wally world...
LTL is where it's at. Who wants to sleep in a truck getting 42cents a mile lmao

The Government doesn't care about these illegals driving down Truckers pay. They just trying to score political points off that idiot in Florida. I know a ton of truck drivers that quit over the years. It used to be a decent career just like tech before being flooded with overseas labor.

I thought the owner operators made the bank in trucking. My uncle was an owner operator he died owing money and had kids by women in multiple states.
My brother tried to do that but maintenance alone can male or break you. You literally have to be OTR 24/7 until you find someone yo drive for you.

O/O's are just like entrepreneurship in any other business. Survivorship bias. The successful O/O's talk louder than the failures. The overhead is crazy and it ain't for everyone. One false move and you're stuck west of Odessa 15k in the hole. Gotta save money for maintenance and major repairs and for your own retirement. It's a lot to juggle and I think most folks aren't built for it. I wasn't. Everyone got a stop pretending like being an O/O is the only respectable avenue to take. The LTL fellas be retiring happy after making 6 figures with the 401k and PTO

Tbf it was a cutthroat game before immigrants took it over. You got dirty brokers. Mega-carriers pushing regulations that benefit them to the detriment of the drivers in their quest for logistics domination. Railroads tryna get all the freight.

Mannn… I’m so tired of this whole English competency bulljive… it ain’t stopped shyt. I’m still spending 20 min asking 3 questions and having a phone shoved in my face to repeat the same 3 questions.

And yes these are the cheap thirst party peanut pullers.

If you in the tri state area, join theatrical teamsters 817. Easiest gig as a trucker. You work on movie sets. You pick up your truck at the yard, drive to a film location and stay there 12hours + a day, you get free catered food all day. Drive back to the yard n do it again the next day

Ideal gig will be a tv show. It takes 2 weeks to film an episode. If you on a show with 10+ episodes you eating

This is it brehs! When I worked in TV/Film in Atlanta them Teamsters had it made. All them cats were cool as hell too.

I just remember it being difficult to get in the rotation once you joined the union. The transpo captains would handpick their crew and use them from project to project

Only thing that sucked is they would be first in, last to leave. But their paychecks were amazing
