Drive cement mixers. Find a company that hire rookie drivers. You will make atleast a G a week after taxes. Its alot of hours though

For those that want to understand the Air Break system.
I failed out of Steven's when I couldn't pass the parallel parking portion of the road test. Went to Raider Express and they paid a weekly stipend while you train to get your CDL which at the time (2019) was pretty unique. OTR training pay was good because the training miles were good. Cleared a 1k check during training.
When I got out of OTR training I was guaranteed a minimum $800 per week for five weeks but I only made the minimum once. From that point on never worked a full week and cleared less than 1k. 1k isn't a lot per se but it is the artificial measuring stick in your trucking career. I was told by many that 1k per week in your first year wasn't common but most start at the mega-carriers. CR England and CRST are bottom feeders.
When you say cleared 1k you like close to 1k? 850 or 900 or way under 1k?
What you think about driving for Prime?
I mean that I made/make $1,000 or more per week after taxes.
Right now I drive for Freymiller.

Im starting to think this might just be in Chicago/NWI
so many local companies that would train and hire you fedex,ABF,XPO,old dominion,nestle water and A couple more if you stay in Chicago/NWI you don’t have to go over the road as a rookie 
especially if you go to truck Driving school damn near every food company will hire you with no Experience
It’s shytty if you driving for a company.. If your an owner operator with no outstanding loans you dictate a lot of shyt and you get paid.. I watch this dude on YouTube named just truckin.. dude breaks down everything plus he fixes his own truck and other shyt..

Didn’t even show the toilet/shower. I’d seriously consider driving for a couple years after retirement just to go out on the road. Something like Expeditor work with the modified Class 8 tractor turned into a straight truck. They have sleepers like the one you posted with showers ( gotta have that, no exception) and full kitchen. Read that they make great money for express runs hauling everything from a couple pallets of a specialty item to an envelope with important documents. You have to be ready at a moments notice to leave out though.
Once I retire I’m looking into buying an RV motor coach and hitting the road.. That truck driving shyt is a lot of work and your alone most of the time..
I hear you, bruh. That RV life is peak retirement....hope you enjoy that.
